Tindall Zoo

I've had a lot of issues uploading images to the forum, so fingers crossed this actually works.

Inspired by Orkan's mini zoo building contest, I decided to try making a tiny zoo. Of course, it quickly ended up larger than expected, but in the scheme of things it is still a fairly small zoo. The backstory is that the Tindall family owned an estate with some beautiful botanical gardens and a large wooded area. Over time, a small menagerie was added to the plant collection. Today, the park is a public not for profit. Several of the original greenhouses have been converted into animal habitats, but the large central garden remains, as does the woodland preserve.

Entrance. You can see one of the converted green houses to the right. It is now a lemur habitat. The lemur's outside area was reclaimed from the historic bear pit.

Park of the central gardens. This area has two red panda habitats.

The gazabo aviary is viewable from almost everywhere in the zoo. It currently houses red crowned cranes and peafowl. On the right hand side you can get a glimpse of the Zoo Choo, a narrow-gauge railway the runs in a closed loop past zebra, llama, wallaby, and capybara.

A look into the meerkat habitat. In the distance you can see the orangutang/gibbon mixed habitat and the caracal habitat.

This building at the back of the park is roughly modelled after the Aberdeen Pavilion in Ottawa. It still needs some detailing on the interior. It houses two species of tortoise, two spider exhibit, the indoor portion of the peccary habitat, several shops, and a small educational area.

View from the plaza behind the pavilion. You can see, from left to right, the short-clawed otter and African penguin habitats, the aviary, and the fence preventing guests from climbing on the Zoo Choo tracks.
