Storms and even twisters aren't really that big a deal as long as you have decent shelter coverage and activate the alarm as soon as you get the first storm detected warning. Prioritise fixing fences if they get taken out by a twister. It doesn't matter if a few dinos escape, they can't do much damage with all/most of the guests in shelters.
