TMTK assets being rendered when not placed!

Hello, our friend Daddy Poe found out that ALL susbcribed tmtk models were rendered by the computer no matter if they are placed into the park loaded.

This affects game performance and FPS. For one, I made huge amount of effort to make all my assets as optimized as I can, but I still created close to 200 assets for Planco.
In other words, the more I contribute to the community, the more my game will suck! this function is not a good one...

Any idea if those are all rendered when opening a specific park file, or are they all rendered every time you open ANY park file?

For a feature like TMTK that was supposed to be a valuable addition to the game and help make up for the many items and themes missing, it sure hasn't had the focus that it deserved, it reminds me of how Atari treated UGC in RCTworld...talked it up and then pretty much abandoned it...

The huge wall set project is on hold right now because of this. I don't want to make a huge bunch of assets that are just going to jack my, and anyone's, game.

I've downloaded a lot of really nice assets for future projects, but since I'm not using them right now I'm going to remove them all.

That's a shame because I don't know for sure if I'll be able to find them again because the search function for TMTK is another feature that seems rushed and incomplete in this game.

Well well well... Not so much as an acknoledgment from any frontier community peeps....

Well done Frontier! :/

I went through and unsubscribed from a bunch of TMTK items I'm not using right now, as well as a lot of blueprints yesterday. I was actually really surprised at how much faster one of our park files loadedtoday. Of course when I went to open the park file there were some TMTK items I had to resubscribe to because people had used them in their blueprints, but that only took a minute. The increase in fps was welcome. Of course if I need anything I unsubscribed to I'll have to go see if I can find it again...

But wouldn't your developers know themselves if TMTK items are all loaded in each bench, even if they aren't used? I don't think any of us have access to the game code to know whether that's even true, only that Daddy Poe made that claim. As often as it's been mentioned around here, I'd imagine that parks lagging and taking a long time to load has been reported.

So I'm not sure what we're supposed to be reporting on the Issue Tracker with this? "I removed a large number of TMTK assets and now the game seems to run faster"? LOL! I'm don't know that they would find that an issue to worry about... :p

just curious..whats "a bunch"

My subscribed Items list was at 555 pages of TMTK items, blueprints and park files, I've got it down to 509 pages - each page represents 10 items, so I've removed around 460 individual files. Seems like a lot, but many of those were in sets that had multiple pieces, and there was often more than one set out there, or a similar set, so I had to choose one set and ditch the other. I still have a LOT more to go through and I'm sure there's a lot more to remove. It's not so bad if I'm focused on one park file with a limited number of themes, so I can then remove what I'm not using, but if I have several different parks in the process of being worked on, and each has a couple different themes used, then it comes down to deciding if I'm going to be working on this or that park in the near future, does the item have any other uses, and how easy will it be to find that item again in the future? That last thing would be a little easier if the search function looking for TMTK or blueprints worked a little better. But the improvement in loading times so far has made it worthwhile I think. We'll see of that lasts and how often I need to pare things back as I'll have to resubscribe to some things when I download a blueprint to look at, for instance.

When you report an issue on the Issue Tracker you generate a 'task' that works as a reference point for investigations and helps the team review issues more quickly and efficiently. Any information you can provide in those Issue Tracker reports and any contributions others can add to them really helps our developers track down what may be causing the issue. All information helps in these reports so you've nothing to lose by reporting them directly to the Issue Tracker.

I will not make a report on the issue tracker for this. Since I was not the one to discover it, I don't have the tool to verify it (it was discovered while rendering and modeling with some monitoring software). It's an engine issue, and Cobra is closed to us...
More importantly ... I got literally sick of doing planzoo beta testing for a month without as much as a «we will check this out» or any form of feedback. I will not make an issue report nor investigate any further. I much prefer your first answer, "we'll flag this". It was good enough for me. I know it's your job to say ad nauseum "use issue tracker".... but... please.... no... please.... fix the issue tracker.. I'll use it then (I've made an extensive post with actual implementable tools for that - no feedback there either).

What we have to lose by reporting to the issue tracker is : 1- time, 2- mental sanity 3- trust in Frontier! We humans tend to use badly designed infrastructure only when there's a law to force us or when there's an actual visible benefit to it. I have to tell you @Paul_Crowther , I have not opened a Frontier game in weeks as a result of my experience with the issue tracker, bugs and (lack of) exchanges with the community leaders. I'm sorry it falls on you, it shouldn't... you did not design the issue tracker for sure... but you ARE paid to tell us to use it... That produce a very tangible feeling of rage and hate that is filling my usually oh-so-sweet-gamer's-heart!

So I'll be back in a few weeks.... see updates... protect mental health.... lol...

Ok, I have used the Issue Tracker, for what it's worth.

If anyone wants to add their own comments there, please feel free to do so! It's one of the most recent reports on the PC tracker (which has an amazing amount of PZ issues reported on it...)

Thanks for sending in the report, it really does help us! We are speaking to the developers about this to make sure there's no other underlying issue happening in your game but the report really does help:). We'll let you know when we have more to share.
