What happened to the type 8 is understand why the types 1 -5 aren't in game but the fact that both the type 7 and the type 9 exist means that the type 8 also exists so why isn't there a type 8 in game is there any concept art of it do you (Frontier development) simple not like the number 8

I always imagined its a Cobra mk2 Situation, just didn't make it to the market because it had too much errors so they just went to build the next one.

First rule of marketing is that you have to treat your consumer base like they are stupid.
No, it's not because of customer confusion between 95/98.
It's because they were worried there was code out there that was determining the version of windows by looking for a "9". That's a terrible way for a program to determine it - but given some code I've seen, it's not entirely out of the question.
Ergo, some software might assume it was running on 95/98 if they called it 9. By going to "10", they kind of avoid that whole problem.

Granted - but I think the program-version-checking is probably the most legit reason.
Determining real Windows versions isn't actually difficult, but a lot of people take shortcuts they really shouldn't take....

As for the Types , who cares about T8 , when you could have a Type4 (or was it 5) that was famous for blowing up !
