To Solo Play Players: If You Could Disable PVP, Would You Play in Open Play Mode Instead?

I have 1500 hours in the game (...) not a 'dangerous area' (...) in Shinrarta Dezhra, and the other searching for a Guardian ruin.
lmao
The question is, why are the headquarters of the pilots federation and some old ruins more dangerous than an anarchy or a system in civil war?
Guardian ruins are in anarchy tho and not everyone must like pilots federation 🤡

Dunno, personally, I've never participated in the shindez everyday pvp shenanigans. I assume the guardian ruins variant of griefers are just that, trying to kill your srv away from civilization.

Anarchies, contrary to mainstream brief, aren't any more dangerous than lawful systems. It's just the brainwashing of fdev, trying to write the governing type off as criminal (on that logic, 399 999 999 100 systems in the game are dangerous criminal havens). Civil wars are bgs, why would they be dangerous? Especially in backwater systems.

Every player is member of the pilots federation.
Which is another thing, why would the pilot federation allow members to kill each other?

Is there any lore explanation for this?

Why not make the pilot federation an actual faction that you can earn rep with and reap certain rewards? So that rogue commanders can actually be outlaws?

It was funny, but now please stop missing the point. ;)

to OP : YES
but solo mode still useful for the grinding/farming (Dav's Hope, Jameson Crash, etc)
so the simplest :
just add OPEN PVE/COOP mode (kind of private group for pacifists/casual players like Moebius, but official and default/opt-out mode)

You should always conform to the rules of open, aka the rules of the many, instead of trying to terraform it according to the taste of the few.

Well, pg+solo might be way more than open alone.
Also, the rules are the same for everyone. Modes are there only to filter people out, not create rules that favor a mode or another

There's really nothing else to be done in the matter. Combat is an integral part of the game, and any type of godmode would trash already existing dynamics in one way or another by abuse. No thank you. I don't want indestructible bgs attackers in my system only because their weapons are stowed, and they're not part of any pp group lol

BGS is an asynchronous and indirect competitive play.
It count the buckets you fill and it compares that values with the number of buckets filled by your opponents.
It has nothing to do with direct pvp interaction since it was not designed to work that way.

So, you say you dont want indestructible attracters in your system?
How do you destroy a player group that plays on a different platform?
Or even on your platform but at a different time zone?
Or they simply stay in their PG?

I'm a soylo player. And open play doesn't interest me. Reason: IMO combat is the main selling point for PvP. And combat is exactly the most uninteresting thing in this entire game. Also serving as a whipping boy for ganker aces who are experts in combat with their OP ships is not my idea of fun. Let them butcher each other for all I care.
I might reconsider open play if there is more interaction with other people possible. But for some reason which is beyond me I can't even buy/ sell stuff directly to other players. Heck I can't even give stufffz to @Bottom Hat when I want to! Sorry, Hat. I just can't manage to get that spelling right....

Lol!

going back to the guardian ruins, you are the enemy there, you are destroying the monuments and Sentinels that there are to protect them.
You are invader there, and you shouldn't surprised that you are not welcome there and you can die there :alien:

Read N learn.
Elite Dangerous was not developed with MP in mind. It was just an extra.
Open would've been much better if the multiplayer experience was much more balanced from the get go.
It wasn't.
Open NOW would've been much better if they worked on it the past couple of years to make it actually BETTER.
They didn't.

End of the story.

Yeah, Bethesda had just as little clue how to make a MP game like so many other devs. Time and time again the same mistakes keep being repeated because many devs try to reinvent the whell or dont know who their audience is.
