To the CMDR at HIP 14909 Thargoid base last night...

My Asp was also destroyed there, on the ground, in Mobius. I was watching from my SRV. I have enough to rebuy it 1000 times. but the point is - I was in a private group and some piece of sheet erased my effort to earn that rebuy amount for his own fun. I have relogged in vanilla Elite, but I have lost few minutes of my time. He disrespected my life. Block-list updated.

If he was in a PG then it's up to the admins of the PG to sort out. Yes some people do like to 'invade' PG's etc and the leaders of such PG need to keep aware.

Picking on weaker opponents is pretty much THE most cowardly and spineless thing someone can do in any circumstance, pathetic beyond belief IMO. And some people call playing in solo cowardly to avoid this sort of behaviour SMH. Would the op be saying that if they didn't have enough money to cover the rebuy and lost everything?

Once again I must state that I am SO happy solo let's me avoid this sort of "gameplay". I honestly think there is a certain level of "masochism" going on with some people and this game!! and just in case we get the "consensual" issue people have with word meanings....this is the meaning of masochism I mean:

  • (in general use) the enjoyment of an activity that appears to be painful or tedious.
"there's plenty to do when the weather turns moorland walks into exercises in masochism"

But alas this is what a huge lump of PvP unfortunately is in ED?

PvP must surely fall into three camps?

1) Purposeful PvP
Two CMDRs doing something for a reason/outcome knowing the "risks". eg: Powerplay tasks. Or a CG for some outcome. Let's not discuss at this point the lack of orchestrated missions (CGs) to truly push CMDRs against each other for PvP. eg: A Wing of CMDRs protect a ship being repaired, while another Wing of CMDRs attempt to destroy it.

2) Out of Game PvP
A PvP fight organised at a location/time just for the sake of it for no game reason/outcome.

3) Mindless PvP
Random interdiction/attack of a victim, all too often not interested in a fight, let alone capable of a fight. In reality for no ingame reason/outcome, and most likely just done for the lolz.

Now if we were to break down these three into a pie chart, what would their sizes be? Who would suggest (3) is sadly very large, if not the largest? And why after 2.5 years isn't (1) the largest? Why isn't a multiplayer game in 2017 orchestrating/offering interesting easy to access PvP for a reason/purpose/outcome for those interested in it? Why is mindless ganking done purely for its toxicity still basically just the norm?

Hmm i doubt that. Some people enjoy Open because for example; in Solo if im flying to a station, i know im just going to fly to a station. Maybe, just maybe; some weak NPC that i can either avoid or destroy might interdict me. If im doing the same activity in Open, anything can happen...And its that which appeals to people and makes them play in Open. I know in Open i might see something funny, interesting, get attacked, make friends...I know in Solo exactly what is going to happen.

If that's how people want to play fine to each their own but it isn't masochism that people might enjoy the extra risk or challenge of being shot at. By that logic we should create a new "Brick" game that builds a huge wall under the bat so we can enjoy breaking those bricks without the risk of losing the ball.

Gday there, I am the one that was flying the Cutter if this was in Mobius PG? And if so, I am glad you had an unforgettable and fun experience.
Well. Looks like it weren't you CMDR Caderyn Abbadon was referring to.
Sorry for not being clear, this was in open, on PC.
So, judging by the people in a Private Group who were ganked and have written here, it wasn't really a fun experience.

Can't help but laugh though as this only reminds me of one thing.

It sounds like Mobius has gotten more dangerous than Open mode, from all the posts I see on here!

Does the block list work in private group? I thought that it didn't?

No offense, but I keep a pretty basic rule: I don't take my large end-game ships into danger if can't afford the rebuy. If I ever got that low on credits, I'd flip over to a cheaper ship and go grind out my credits to be able to play the game to have fun. But alas, I try to make sure I never get close to going below my rebuys.
