To the CMDR who just blew me up...

Honestly, it's more the act, the idea, than the specific perpetrator that people are mocking.

The OP could die (no offense or ill wish intended or implied), but this comedy will live on forever...or until someone actually proves that the utterly outlandish claim was actually possible, at which point the story will get a great twist.

It's like the Head of Vecna (exactly two people will get that reference).

Don't make me get my DnD books

Imagine if this is confirmed as a hack. Then most of us has to look down and Think :)

Hardly. When an outlandish claim turns out to be true it doesn't make previous criticism based on the utter lack of evidence unjustified, nor alternative explanations based on more solid ground.

Nobody flies in Mobius. I joined out of curiosity. I check it out every now and then and I don't see anyone or 1 or 2 commanders at CG events, maybe. Mobius is a ghost town.

It depends on where you go and what time you play. There are 2 Mobius servers also.

I go to CG's, Engineers, PP HQ's, Jameson, and other hot spots in Mobius there is usually 4 or more CMDR's running around. CG's usually have packed house.

Most of the times I've been in Open lately is a ghost town. Jameson especially.

That's the opposite of my experience: Jameson is so busy in open, i see such a busy cluster of hollow boxes as I approach the station, I have to switch to solo or risk a GPU freeze. My Geforce card has problems in open, at the station, perusing menus, with a bunch of cmdrs around.

This post is hilarious, hacked headlook, what excuses will people come up with next :D

Btw you asked what the point was? This thread......They got one of the 2 things they wanted when they killed you; killing you..You just gave them the second.

I suggest staying in Solo.

I'll see your Vecna reference with a Sword of Kas reference.

The very first question I have to ask is:

What 3rd party programs do you run? There are quite a few out there used by a large number of people, published by a number of otherwise ordinary players. Modifying one of these for some nefarious purpose is pretty easy for someone to do, and these things are rarely kept on anything that could be mistaken for secure sites.

Not to say this is what happened, but it’s certainly in the realm of possible.

Dude, I understand your point but if you hear hooves say Horse not Zebra.

What's the difference between headlook and headlock?

Headlook is what you do, look around the cockpit. Headlock just locks head tracking in the forward facing position.

The most widely used 3rd party apps are merely database based and the ones that aren't are virtual control emulators or both and operate from the client side. I'm not saying it's not possible through a 3rd party app, just not the mostly widely used ones (EDDI, VoiceAttack, EDProfiler, etc). If anyone has any doubts about the security or possibility of hacking through related apps, you can always drop them a message in the respective forum thread.
However, if he does have a 3rd party app that emulates controls/key press/mouse, it could be the source of the problem.

Like others have stated, I think he was unintentionally hitting the key/button/axis during the commotion of the fight without realizing it.

I believe the OP because I've repeatedly encountered a similar hack. I play open and I never, ever attack other CMDRs. However, sometimes, I get hacked, and my ship just opens the galaxy map, plots a course to the community goal, flies there, identifies other CMDRs, targets them, interdicts them, switches to weapons and puts 4 pips to weps, targets them, burns their shields down and repeatedly railguns them in the jacksie until they die. Sometimes, the hack gets even more complicated and my ship has to low-wake out and repeat the process.

I think it's some kind of hack to my moral code. I blame the Russians. Is this a common thing? Should I submit a bug report?
