To the core, and beyond!... in an Imperial Eagle?

You overtook me again...we're playing leap-frog. I am just over 5300LY from BP

My turn to jump ;)

Frawd

Pretty much! Haha, and now you're ahead again by like 1000 Ly. :) You'll get an extra jump this time though, I won't be able to get on today, sadly, and not sure how much time I will have to play and continue in the following days after that, but for now it's pretty even!

Ugh, gotten to the point where I have to stay in the badlands/unscoopable area on economic mode for an extended period of time in order to continue my trip... Well at least it acts as a "safety" net now that the stellar density is starting to get very low (the badlands has a stellar density that's about the same as in the bubble)... Seems like the badlands is ending a couple of hundred ly ahead though, welp, goodbye safety net. :S

I'm at 2200LY from BP and the unscoopables ended about 2000LY back...but the star density is a little less than desired ;)

Log #34, 20th February 3302, 65,000 Ly from Sol

Imgur album: http://imgur.com/a/WkjvC

Today I finally managed to cross the 65k Ly from Sol barrier, and without using any boosts at all! (proof: at the start of the trip and now) It has taken almost 2 months, 100169 Ly and 5147 systems, but I'm finally here! :D Tomorrow I will set sail for Beagle Point, my final goal for this trip, and will also leave a bunch of data about the journey so far :)

Quick summary of Day 34:
- Did the 5000th jump of the journey
- Found planets and stars discovered by CMDR Zatie, CMDR Derbo, CMDR Att, CMDR Arrakaij, CMDR Lashdan, and many others.
- Came across a gas giant that was wider than it was tall. (is this rare?)
- Crossed the X = 0 line at Iorady NX-U b2-0
- Reached Iorant KW-E C11-1, the "gateway" to Beagle Point. Feels like I've taken a huge leap off a cliff, and grabbed the bottom of a ladder to salvation...
- Located a system past the 65k Ly line that I can reach without using boosts, headed back and in its direction.
- Finally crossed the 65,000 Ly line in Iorant ZH-J b36-0 at the end of the day, no FSD boosts used, and only 2 fume jumps!

Statistics for Day 34:
- Screenshot
- Distance travelled: 3952 Ly
- Systems visited: 213
- 0 Earth-like Worlds
- 10 Water Worlds (4 terraformable, 3 discovered)
- 2 Ammonia Worlds (2 discovered)

Final location in the galaxy:
System name: Iorant ZH-J b36-0
Distance from Sol: 65,000.90 Ly
Distance from Sagittarius A*: 39,101.67 Ly
Distance from Beagle Point: 841.30 Ly

The log for today will be a bit delayed, but just to keep it short, my Imperal Eagle has now finally arrived at Beagle Point, 65,279 Ly from Sol :)

A bit delayed due to being busy IRL, but here's the final log for the 21 Draco ---> Beagle Point trip :) Next up is the return journey, which is gonna take a while longer due to a large detour (most likely gonna go and look at the 'opposite' systems, the ones who are on the exact opposite side of the galaxy, treating Sagittarius A* as the center, but it'll be a very large detour since I'm crossing the abyss again at 17000;y;49000). Not 100% sure if I'll make the reports daily or weekly then though... We'll see

Log #35, 21st February 3302, Beagle Point

Imgur album: http://imgur.com/a/n8JGH

Quick summary of Day 35:
- Reached my furthest non-boosted distance at Iorant EA-P c19-0, 65,061.70 Ly from Sol. Entire route to it from 400 Ly away trilaterated in EDDiscovery, and logged with system names and distances. Will post a guide for how to get there for sub-25 Ly ships soon.
- Eventually started heading back towards Iorant KW-E C11-1 to prepare for the final leg towards Beagle Point... I can't believe it's finally happening...
- Used the very first FSD boost of the trip on the route through the Ceeckia sector.
- Finally, on 21st February 3302, at 22:36:57 in-game time, my Imperial Eagle, PFS Asylum Express, has arrived at Beagle Point (Ceeckia ZQ-L c24-0), 65,279.35 Ly from Sol. :D

Statistics for Day 35:
- Goal #2 reached.
- Screenshot
- Distance travelled: 2627 Ly
- Systems visited: 115
- 0 Earth-like Worlds
- 2 Water Worlds (0 terraformable)
- 0 Ammonia Worlds
- 13 standard FSD boosts used

Final location in the galaxy:
System name: Ceeckia ZQ-L c24-0

There we go, here are some statistics from my trip so far :) Will attempt to increase my max boosted distance on Monday, getting to 65,367 Ly with my Imperial Eagle may be possible.

Achievements:
- First Imperial Eagle to get past 65k Ly (also first to do it unboosted) - 20th February 3302
- First Imperial Eagle to reach Beagle Point - 21st February 3302
- Possibly the first Imperial Eagle to reach Sagittarius A* - 2nd January 3302 (at least according to Buckyball A* Challenge thread and the Sagittarius A* Visitor List thread, and I can't find search results here on the forums, reddit and the steam forums of anyone reaching it before me in this ship, BUT I COULD BE WRONG, please correct me if I am!!! I will probably never know for sure though...)
- 100,000 Ly travelled with 0% damage to hull and modules

Journey statistics:

- Max unboosted distance: 65,061.70 Ly from Sol (Iorant EA-P c19-0)
- Max boosted distance: 65,372.43 Ly from Sol (Iorant UQ-C c26-0)
- Total distance travelled: 102,796 Ly
- Average distance per day played: 2937.03 Ly

- Number of FSD boosts used: 13 standard boosts (all on the final route towards Beagle Point)
- Estimated profit so far: 50-75 million Cr (may be higher, Captains Log reporting 30 million, but that's without first discovery bonus, and I've only logged ELWs, WWs and AWs, in addition to some stars)
- Routes used: 100 routes (exactly 100, pretty cool coincidence)
- Highest heat level reached: 95% heat after exiting hyperspace inside a K-type star in a close binary system. Note, I do not have any heatsinks on me, so that was not a fun experience.
- Hull condition: 100% health
- Module condition: 100% health on all modules

Time used:
- Departure from Chilton Terminal: 27th December 3301, ~12:02 in-game time (no evidence of departure time down to the second, but screenshots taken before and after indicate 12:02 is the time of launch)
- Arrival at Sagittarius A*: 2nd January 3302, 20:40:10 in-game time
- Arrival at Beagle Point: 21st February 3302, 22:36:57 in-game time
- Start to finish: 1 month, 25 days, 10 hours and ~35 minutes (impossible to give exact time because of what I said above) Note, that includes a 14 day break at Sagittarius A*
- Only counting days playing: 1 month, 4 days (35 days)
- Approximate time spent in-game: 233 hours and 31 minutes.

Approximate route according to EDDiscovery:

Stellar statistics:
Main-Sequence Stars
- 21 O-type stars
- 194 B-type stars
- 213 A-type stars
- 411 F-type stars

Others
- 8 Black hole (1 supermassive black hole)
- 9 Neutron stars
- 2 White Dwarves (first White Dwarf I found was 10k Ly north-east of Sagittarius A*, the 2nd was right nearby)
- 2 Wolf-Rayet stars (both in the same system)
(I did not try to look for these, and only rarely detoured to look at them)

Log #36, 29th February 3302, 65,372.43 Ly from Sol

Imgur album: http://imgur.com/a/Frj9a

Quick summary of Day 36:
- Screenshotted every planet in the Beagle Point system, since I most likely won't come back to this system again, at least not for a long time.
- Started to make my way towards max distance from Sol after a week break from the game.
- Found a system claimed by CMDR Kamzel, CMDR Akira Masakari, and a few others.
- Nearly crashed into a high metal content planet from 500 Ls away. Aimed in to scan, set throttle to 25%, and went to get something to eat. When I got back, the planet was 10 Mm to the left of me... That could've gone bad... Note to self, never leave the PC while ship is flying at speed towards something, despite the chance of hitting it being very low.
- Used my first premium boost, and did my longest ever jump with it (both for this ship and overall), 42.60 Ly.
- Eventually arrived at Iorant UQ-C c26-0, 65,372.43 Ly from Sol, my absolute furthest distance reached in my Imperial Eagle.
- 1000 hours total gametime reached while in the system mentioned above. (great way to celebrate!)
- Had to go do some other stuff after arriving there, so I didn't get to travel as much as I planned to today...

Statistics for Day 36:
- Screenshot
- Distance travelled: 1150 Ly
- Systems visited: 53
- 0 Earth-like Worlds
- 2 Water Worlds (0 terraformable)
- 1 Ammonia World
- Longest jump of the day: 42.60 Ly (officially my longest ever jump, especially in this ship)
- Premium FSD boosts used: 5

Quick summary of Day 37:
- Finally managed to drag myself away from Iorant UQ-C c26-0, and eventually made my way to "shore" (non-FSD boost territory). Total FSD boost usage: 32 out of 36 standard boosts used, and 10 out of 20 premium boosts used.
- Headed back towards the area where I crossed the 65k line unboosted, to meet up with CMDR Frawd Digger the next day.
- After CMDR Cruento Mucrone (iain666) logged on near the end of the day, I decided to turn around, travel 20 systems back and have a meetup with him. First time seeing another human being since Sagittarius A*, so it was great seeing another ship again, almost surreal... I had a nice talk though! Good luck on your journey CMDR! o7

It was indeed great fun to actually see another human being, 64,704ly from Sol.

I took a couple of pictures - I thought my Cobra was small!

Log #38, 2nd March 3302

Well, this day has been a bit up and down... Started the day with a great meetup with the Sidey maniac CMDR Frawd Digger, past the 65k Ly line, on the. Had a nice chat, took some screenshots and 2 videos, before he eventually had to go, and I started setting sail direction home.
An hour later however, I managed to do an emergency drop by accident (I pressed the FSD toggle button ONCE and it dropped me without warning, even though you have to press it TWICE for it to drop you...) in the Iorant NJ-Q b32-0 system. Hull down to 99%, and modules are around 96-97%, except thrusters that are down to 92%. Depending on the actual severity of the damage (module malfunction), I may or may not meet up with the Distant Worlds fleet later. (Is 92% health on the thrusters enough to start causing thruster malfunction? And if it does malfunction in supercruise, will it cause an instant emergency drop?)

Quick summary of Day 38:
- Started heading back towards the area I crossed the 65k Ly line unboosted.
- Had a meetup with CMDR Frawd Digger on Iorant AU-Q c18-0 3 E A.
- Did an emergency drop by accident in Iorant NJ-Q b32-0. Great way to start the return journey... FSD toggle keybind changed with FSD hyperspace to prevent further emergency drops.
- Started heading direction home again. ETA: June 3302 (in time for 2.1 release)
- Found another potato-shaped planet, this time a HMC planet.

Hay Cmdr...thanks for the meet up. It was fun...

As for your hull/module issues...you're fine!

Currently my hull is at 80% and many of my modules are below that (lowest is cargo hatch at 41%). The only thing I noticed thus far is that when my FSD dropped below 80% (specifically 79%) it started malfunctioning about 14% of attempts to enter hyperspace (hence the need for 'spare' boosts in case it fails on a boosted jump). It has yet to fail while in supercruise thankfully.

Unable to upload screenshots today it seems. Imgur requiring a captcha that does not accept the correct answer no matter how many times I try and how many times I request a new one, both for visual and audio captcha. Will check again tomorrow, and will update this post if it's fixed.
EDIT: fixed

Quick summary of Day 39:
- Continued travelling back down the Carina-Sagittarius Arm
- Found a B-type supergiant (B8 IIB) on the map all the way out here, 64k Ly from Sol (furthest observed?), however after a 45 min detour, it turns out it was only 3.2 solar radii... (B# II stars are usually 100-300 solar radii)

Statistics for Day 39:
- Screenshot
- Distance travelled: 1805 Ly
- Systems visited: 100
- 0 Earth-like Worlds
- 4 Water Worlds (3 terraformable, 1 discovered)
- 0 Ammonia Worlds
- 1 B-type "Supergiant"

Final location in the galaxy:
System name: Syrue Theia ZK-P e5-0
Distance from Sol: 63,954.59 Ly
Distance from Sagittarius A*: 38,066.14 Ly
Distance from Beagle Point: 2966.39 Ly

Alright, previous post updated with uploaded images, correct BP distance, and a few edits :)
I won't be able to play this weekend though, so no more progress until next week sadly...
