DD5 + Drag. 630mps or something stripped down.
Speed saves lives and re-buys. Had mine boosting 637 the other day. IIRC, Un1k0rn had one boosting 625. Both have weapons/defenses equipped, so I wouldn't call them stripped down. Stripped down implies no weapons, shields, hrps, etc. I prefer calling it Mass Reduced For Unilateral Combat Operations at Velocity.
You're right, it may be a double-edged sword. But I somehow have to vent my anger due to 3 million CR lost exploration data.
Well, you can of course always fly in Solo unless you want to wing up. But is this the solution to an obviously still non-deterring C&P system? This guy will be able to pay off his 6000 or something credits of bounty after one hour in any Interstellar Factors bureau. How about interlinking the height of a bounty with the amount of the criminally destroyed assets?
And forget about escape strategies in a Hauler with a 2D shield generator.
Frustrating? Sure, if you let it get to you. Don't, because it's happened to most of us at least once. Accept that you're going to get shot. It's part of the game. The trick is to survive it. Refer to posts #14, #24, #31, #33. Good advice there. Use it. Un1k0rn has some "outside the box" builds, with a Cobra MK III. It can fight, in the hands of a skilled user. As a newer player, that should be a "next goal ship" for you. It's much faster than a hauler, good jump range, runs cool (important for silent running without a sink) and a low edge profile that can be more difficult to hit for fixed weapons users. Get engineers Farseer, The Dweller, Cheung and Palin unlocked asap. Those will get you better jump range, speed, better distributor, and shields. It'll take time though, so be patient. You'll be earning credits along the way, so don't sweat.
In the mean time, "if you just gotta go" to a high profile system like Nanomam, try times of the day when it's likely to be less crowded. Monday through Friday, there's a window of 2-3 hours between when US players go to bed for the night and UK players are still hitting their snooze button. That's around 12 am to 3 am EST or 4 am to 7 am GMT. I've often been through every capital, gone to every engineer, and a host of community goals, without seeing a single live CMDR during those hours. I'm not saying you won't ever see them, but there's less online.
