To those who are worried about FDEVS finances..

but to quote sandy from pax , no eta, no guareentees, no resources for that at present, seems they are merely keeping a tight control of costs, or deploying elite personell to planet coaster and hollywood 2018 and maybe safari planet

As to the third game, I'm still hoping that something from the Outsider tech can be salvaged. That looked interesting, as did the possible 'Bourne' makeover.

the state of the code base would concern me much more than the finances.

money you can always dig up if you have something promising, or even can make it up. it's only money, it's everywhere and anybody's is as good as anybody else's. a rotten code base, however, is a real showstopper and you only have one, it can force you to start from scratch. anyone up for a real 'clear save'?

I hope the third game isn't the Harry Potter franchise. I don't think it mixes well with ED for a number of reasons.

Dumb. Stock price is not Frontier's finances. A company can be hemmoraging money and still have have high stock price.
The Current Ratio for FDEV.L is 2.02 which shows that Frontier's handling of its yearly liabilities is excellent which solidifies the legitimacy of its stock price.

i think EA still has the license for that franchise. i dont see them selling it.

Good to know. I'd think it would be horrible if it was the mystery franchise Frontier's new game was based on.

Anyone who has expressed an opinion towards frontier being in financial trouble, are there any, was simply a clueless muppet.

Anyone thinking the share price is any indication of Frontier's health is the clueless muppet. Share price may say something about the financial health of the companies shareholders, but it says zlich about the financial health of the company.

Anyone expressing an opinion towards Frontier being in financial trouble is probably drawing the obvious conclusion from reports such as this in the Financial Times.

Fiscal data as of Nov 30 2016 ........ Nov 30 2016 ........ May 31 2016 ........ Nov 30 2015
Net change in cash ............................... (1.86) ................ (1.87) ..................... (1.84)

Brackets means negative. I.e. Frontier is steadily losing the money it earned from ED backers and investors at nearly four million pounds per year. And that's after counting in the recent earnings from Planet Coaster.

I'm thinking it may be The Bourne Identity. It may tie in with some of "The Outsider" which I'm sure they still have knocking around in the offices.

Thank you for bringing data. Every schmuck who ever took a business class likes to pretend Fdev is in peril. They are not. That paint job you buy is not saving the company despite what some people like to think.

nobody really says they are in peril, just that you can't sit back at any point and say 'we have done enough'. the biggest argument to put forward is this - Frontier are in the position they are in as a result of careful strategic planning within the overall organisation, and detailed micro management of the individual departments/titles.

to try and argue that the $5 ship skins are not important, to their success, is being naive. that is, in many ways, just another way of saying, they don't really 'need' micro transactions, they can't provide any kind of revenue stream, that benefits their top line, and form part of the reported profits/share growth.

tomorrows numbers are more relevant that yesterdays, and next weeks will be more relevant that that. you don't make gains or meet new target by doing nothing. and in a sales led environment what you are bringing in now, far outweighs what you brought in back then.

people really need to understand what is meant by.. cant or wont operate at a loss. that isn't a statement about the condition of a business, that is a simple statement about where a PLC does not want to be, and does not want to be in a position to have to react to.. its not simple and clear cut, but every penny being spent on the game, is a penny covered for their cost to run the game. that is all.

that would be cool.. they had outsider up and running years ago, i bet with the new engine and updated tools, that would be a great starting point to bring it up to today's standards and give it life.... interesting times ahead, im def hoping it will be a 3ps they are doing, ties into their systems and with us eventually getting legs and mobility, boom!!

They did pay that rather large loan off ... just saying.

If FD is making a movie they will demand you pay your ticket before you even watch the trailer. They will release in the movie in 30 minute increments over the course of two years. After each 30 minute release they will take feedback from the most vocal of the audience who paid for an extra fancy movie ticket (not to be confused with the normal movie ticket holders). After each feedback session they will scramble to make changes to the script and plot for the next release. If you have an extra fancy movie ticket or wish to upgrade your normal ticket, you can get access to the pre-segment-release. Here you will be able to view the movie pre-rlease before everyone else! What a deal!

There will be no confirmation that FD will be doing a series over the next 10 years.... Even with some audience believing so despite no evidence supporting it. Also the movie will not be coming home to DvD or Blue-Ray regardless of initial promises during the movie's funding. You can only view through your cable provider or your local theater.

Miss anything?

Don't forget that if you're watching it with your friends & you're all sat in the same row of seats, the movie screen will disconnect & you'll all have to go out, come back in & try again.

The amount of stuff they can add to the store in vanity items for the commanders will ensure their financials are set for the future.

- Makeup
- Jewelry
- Cybernetic Parts/Limbs
- Sunglasses / Cybereyes
- Costumes
- Hats / Helmets
- Cockpit Interior Decorations

Actually that's complete cr*p. More than half the money is kept by the people who actually do most of the sales (Steam and Microsoft) and consumed by other selling, distribution and administration etc. Just read the accounts.

What rather large loan?? There's none mentioned in the accounts. The last loan mentioned was tiny - about 1/50th of those cash losses - and was repaid two years ago when Frontier sacked all the staff in its North American office. http://thechronicleherald.ca/busine...developments-closes-in-halifax-18-out-of-work
