At the core, I see this as an orchestrated, larger-scale (Instancing RNG & Limitations) PvP event. Nothing more.

MultiPew gots its special part in it with the "Support Salomé" and "Fight against Salomé" entry - one which will leave Players not up-to-date on Frontier Forum details behind absolutely clueless.

If there was any "truth" to be told, the Player character could simply arrange a secret meeting with CoA and be done with it.
Heck, she could Teleprompt into any random Ship of some Explorer who's "Looking for Crew -> Exploration" and start chatting right away...

Hence, it's all Smoke & Mirrors. At the end of the day, it's just another PvP Arena.
Arguably, with the run-in and overall setting, potentially one of the better quality PvP Events for what it's worth.

You're not alone. I also play Elite very much like I live my normal life. Just going about, small boring job and little personal adventures on the side.
And then reading news about amazing people and their amazing lives. :)

So, if someone who doesn't care about this event happens to fly around in their usual ship, the supposedly "good guys" are going to gank them under the assumption that they must be an enemy? That doesn't even make any sense roleplay-wise (which I kind of thought this event was supposed to be about), since all the armed NPC ships should also be shot down. Mass-murder day across the galaxy!

I have no PC at the moment so I'll have to watch the events unfold and live vicariously through your gaming efforts.... :(

None of the player groups ever make any sense, they all go on about wanting better game mechanics to suit them but every time something major goes on that is supposed to be for the community they try to exert control over it and put off many people from even attempting to join in and prove FD right about NOT giving them any extra help to make things worse.

Anyway hopefully there should be enough bodies flying around in heavy duty ships that they will have their hands full with us and leave the rest of the community to get some play time as well even if they don't have the best ships or equipment.

Any of these streams on YouTube? I have trouble with Twitch, but YouTube works great for me. If someone could post a link or two (Twitch, YouTube, whatever), that sure would be dandy.
