Top 10 must have animals for PZ

1. White rhino
2. Black rhino
3. Amur Leopard
4. Takin
5. Capybara
6. Gaur
7. Sumatran rhino
8. Barbarossa
9. Malayan tapir
10. Manned wolf

Honestly ten is not enough, need 50 then I think we call can shut up and finally enjoy.

This is an even bigger challenge than the 30 animals left in the game list. However it does take all the pressure off, since you are asking for the top 10 must have animals, and there could be a 100 more after that, so I think I can do it.

1. Leopard (either African/Indian/Indochinese, it is the last majestic big cat missing in this game)

2. Lar Gibbon (This is definitely a must have, it would just add another element to the game if brachiating animations are finally developed, without them then this animal should stay out of the game, we do not need a second Orangutan)

3. Marabu Stork (This might seem like a random choice but it is definitely everything but. We seriously lack birds in this game, and Marabu Storks would behave in similar fashion to the flamingos in game. They would be a much needed avian addition to African Savannah, males and females are quite distinct and they mix well with other species. I have often seen several players ask for Secretary Birds, not sure if this is Zoo Tycoon thing, but those birds would be extremely limited as far as mixed species exhibits.)

4. Sea Lion (When the aquatic DLC was released this would have been my number one pick to be included, it was surprise when they were not, probably saved by Frontier for the North American DLC)

5. Great White Pelican (Not my favorite choice of Pelican, the Brown Pelican or Peruvian Pelican seem a little more interesting to me in color and variation, however since the game has African flamingoes it would only make sense to get Great White Pelicans, so we can finally have a respectable lagoon)

7. Southern White Rhino (This list is obviously not in order, because if it was this would have been my number one pick, it is the last missing piece of the puzzle for a well rounded African Savannah, it is incredible that after one year we still do not have a single African Rhino in game)

8. Meerkat (It would be interesting to see how Frontier handles this animal, hopefully as an habitat animal, and find a compromise with a worthy enrichment station that activates their borrowing behavior. They are crowd pleasers in real life and hopefully that translates well into the game)

9. White Backed Vulture (for the same reason as the Marabu Stork, there is just something special about some broken fallen tree branches and these magnificent birds of prey resting on them, with some African ungulates in the background)

10. Clouded Leopard (This is a must for me. There was a mod of it, that was quite good, and I can only imagine what Frontier's wonderful team will do for this gorgeous cat, it needs to be able to climb a concrete tree though, they are extremely shy and secretive so keep that in mind)

And about 'so I think I can do it.', do what?
And why not lappet faced vulture instead of white backed one? Along with marabou stork, that would complete the ugly 5 of Africa. Have you see The Ugly Five book in YouTube?

@paul78
I agree with the Leopards personally I would prefer the Indian Leopard because I’ve seen them in zoos before as well in a place called Hollywild in my home state of South Carolina. Plus if they add the Indian Leopard we can get the black leopard all for nothing I love black cats probably because I had one before it died.

Hmm, looking at my top 30 list, the ones which I would consider must would be...

1. Moose
2. Red Deer
3. Alpine Ibex
4. Meerkat
5. Capybara
6. (A) Leopard
7. White Rhino

10. Clouded Leopard

If American alligator, gibbon, and dromedary camel's included, I would agree.

Personally I wouldn’t mind having an Indian Leopard because sometimes they turn out black and I’ve seen Indian Leopards in some of the zoo’s and safaris in my home state they are gorgeous animals. I would also love to see a cougar too I’ve seen those in zoos too.

An Indian/Indochinese/Javan/African Leopard would all be amazing choices, and completely different from anything we have in game. Offering a melanistic variation for any of these sub species should not be a problem either. It is probable however that Frontier just goes with the Amur Leopard because of its conservation status and them being the focus of so many zoological programs. It would also be a very easy model to adapt from the snow leopard, a few minor adjustments, and they would have it done. Possibly the easiest animal model for Frontier to create besides other bears and wolfs. The mods could definitely handle this one, but they would have a very difficult time with any of the other Leopards subspecies mentioned. For me this is the one time, that I definitely hope Frontier goes completely against what is commonly found in zoos. The Amur Leopard would be a poor choice for me personally, and a melanistic variation would make absolutely zero sense, since they are very uncommon. There is a zoo that has the melanistic Amur Leopard, and it looks nothing like what you would imagine a black leopard looks like.

I understand, I just want a new Leopard Species I would really prefer any of these 👇 it’s the Indian Leopard I’ve seen at Hollywild

So this one is from Zoochat and only one parent is an Amur Leopard the other is not. Not sure that there is a 100 percent melanistic Amur Leopard, definitely not something ever confirmed within their natural habitat. Most European zoos claiming to have a melanistic Amur Leopard seem to have a mix cat instead. In any case, it just does not look the part at least to me. When we take into account that every single big cat released by Frontier is on the puffier side, since this seems to be a big part of their artistic direction, I can only imagine that a cat that is actually puffy in real life, could end up looking like a balloon in the game. Their facial structure is not very regal or fearsome in comparison to the other leopard subspecies, and this is another artistic liberty that Frontier usually takes when it comes to their big cats. So an official Amur Leopard from Frontier might end up looking like a house cat.

I would be interested in learning about the lineage of this melanistic Amur Leopard. The zoo also claims that San Diego has a melanistic Amur Leopard, and that I know with certainty to be incorrect. (Changed it from North Chinese to Indochinese as a colleague that is currently a keeper at the San Diego Zoo has corrected me on it. I have learned that North Chinese Leopards have no melanistic natural occurrence either) That leopard has an Indochinese Leopard parent, so I wonder if this is the case with Beardsley Zoo as well.

PS: Same keeper has verified for me that the melanistic Amur Leopard in Beardsley Zoo is in fact another hybrid, and the product of an Amur mixed with Indochinese.

This is a very interesting read. A wildlife photographer sets out in a guest to once and for all proof the existence of black leopards in Africa. The best part is that he obtains the undisputable proof. Amazing, the African continent has so many stories of melanistic leopards, and this was the confirmation needed by so many. After having the privilege of observing African Leopards during both of my trips to South Africa, I have forever fallen in love with this majestic cat. It is a favorite of mine, and hope to one day see it in the game.

After reading these posts, my list would be:

1. Sloth, love these funny animals
2. Cougar, my favorite big cat
3. Lar gibbon
4. Meerkat
5. Coati Mundi, love these ever since i saw them in Costa Rica
6. Amur leopard
7. Takin
8. Great white pelican
9. Marabu stork, because Danny_zoo is right, we need more birds and these would be a nice addition for a flamingo exhibit.
10. Species of vulture

Not counting aviary birds, and roughly in order of importance:

1. White or black rhinoceros
2. Meerkat
3. Leopard species
4. California sea lion
5. Capybara
6. Fox species
7. Baboon species
8. Emu
9. American alligator
10. Lar gibbon or siamang

It's hard making a list and not including additional habitat birds (cranes, storks, vultures, pelicans, a smaller penguin), petting zoo animals, at least one more small monkey, a deer species, at least one small cat species (lynx, serval, caracal, fishing cat) and several other small-ish mammals (binturong, sloth, armadillo, tasmanian devil, tanuki), but I think these are the top 10 necessities for me to make the roster feel complete.

Just picking 10 is difficult, but my list of absolute priorities is similar to others' lists

1. African Rhinoceros (Black or White, I want both but I understand that we may only be able to get one)
2. Meerkat
3. Leopard (Preferably the African subspecies as it fits so many biomes)
4. California Sea Lion
5. Emu
6. Fennec Fox
7. Addax/Scimitar-Horned Oryx
8. Gibbon (Northern White-Cheeked is my pick)
9. Capybara
10. Baboon (Preferably Hamadryas, but I'd settle for Olive)

I definitely want more aquatic animals to be added. Like everyone is naming amazing land animals that would be amazing to add. However, I would love some more Aquatic animals like;
Walrus
Dolphins
Whales
Sharks
Sea Turtles
Jellyfish
Manta Rays
Water Monitor
Octopus and Squid
and Various Fish.
It would be nice to make just an aquarium in my zoo. Plus the aquatic theme could be used in a larger part of your zoo. I did see some people add a few aquarium animals but I literally want to make a full aquarium in my zoo. Give them lots of space keep them safe from hunters and treat them right.
