Total On-Foot Comba Remake

Well, the actual state of On-Foot Combat is not what we could say "well made". Before starting this is only my point of view and how I would do it, and an idea I had on how to do it.
Starting with how it should work:
You start with a pistol and your pilot suit(like it is now)
You can buy weapons for extremely "cheap" prices > Karma AR-50 :400 cr
Karma C-44 :300 cr
TK Eclipse :300 cr
And with that you would need to buy Carbine, SMG, Pistol magazines and store them in your ship for later:
Carbine Mag : 2cr per Bullet or 80 per magazine
SMG Mag : 1cr per bullet or 40 per magazine
Pistol Mag : Maybe free for starting out with something.
Why so cheap? you would ask. Well, I think that when you kill someone or you get killed you drop your weapon as an item so others could pick it if they prefer.(Maybe you like the sight or something). Obviously you lose that weapon but you can have more copies you bought eatlier or by paying 200cr more when respawning(according to attackments)
This is cause the actual prices are not "Immersive"(how a weapon is much more expensive than a ship?)
But my engineering? I think engineering must be obliterated from at least the On-Foot Experience. Its not normal that in a galaxy of Billions or Trillions of people just 6 know how to engineer weapons or add attachments. This means a "fairer" gameplay.
The actual sistem is not fair cause of engineering and the SHIELD that actually turns it into a bulletsponge game. I think that if we delete the shields and make kinetic and thermal weapons just a different rate of fire or damage and not "thermal for shields, kinetic for body" would make the game a million times better and not having to swap weapons every 4 seconds just to kill one target
Going into the attachments section: Actually(not counting engineering) i cant say much about engineering cause we only have a different sight but i think in the future we could add more of them like: >2X sight :100cr
4x sight :150cr
Suppresor :200cr
Flashlight :50cr
Extended Stock:100cr
With attachments the upgraded weapons are tolerated but not by engineering for hours.
Before ending I must say that if Frontier doesn't stop engineering now this could make the game even worse in the future.
If you have any suggestions or ideas or you think im wrong in something tell me and I will answer.

Are plenty of open world RPG games for decades, most of them - even those 10+ yo ! - way better than the one in Oddy ! Far Cry - almost all of them, Fallout, Mass Effect ( 1,2,3 - masterpieces, but EDevs are yl behind ! ) , especially Outer Worlds ( take that, Oddy, and learn how to make great ship interiors AND better on-foot combat ! ) - so, I do not think is the lack of ideas (even if I agree with much of your suggestions...) - but, rather, is the inability of EDev.s to "learn" from proven models, and, obvious, lack of experience and professionalism : they are behind 10-15 years of dedicated RPG.s in terms of game mechanics, and at the rate they update the game, improving, bit by bit several aspects, but introducing, in the same time, MORE bugs ( no testing of releases, instead abusive use of players community as "free testers" ...) - the time they take to get better and competitive, suggest are not enough peoples working on releases, and not very well-prepared to do the job - and I think the main reason is the management here - because they could employ more peoples, with better qualification, and for sure, desist the way they introduce untested patches who more broke the game than improve...

To conclude, I feel very pessimistic about the future of ED - I love the game, but is like a shiny gem abandoned in a garbage can...

The main issue I have with the foot combat is that they hide fast weapon switching behind engineering. Modding a gun so that you can switch it out faster ... I mean I would struggle to justify that from a lore perspective, and it's not good at all for gameplay. Reloading faster, sure, but if you base the combat dependencies on different weapons for different damage types, and then make weapon switching slow, it just doesn't feel good. And having to grind engineering to make it a bit faster? UGH

I don't bother with fast reload or handling because there's always time to do that when you're taking cover anyway.

I don't put that mod on any of my guns, you swap more than fast enough. and its really only an issue in CZ anyway. outside of a CZ im almost always just using the plasma pistol.

A lot of shooters feature similar mods or perks to enable faster handling and switching of weapons. It was to be expected that Odyssey would have its own variation stuck behind an engineer.

My personal opinion is that on foot combat in ED should be a casual shooter, not a dyed in the wool, serious FPS that tries to emulate or match the big guns in the FPS arena.

I started like 2 months ago in elite dangerous and bought Odyssey
Actually im not having the best fun cause of engineering things and this onfoot is not interesting because it feels like a second job
I've seen Yamiks cause its funny and it has some good points about this but i hope they could remake or change most of this techniques.
Sorry its my first reply on the forums i dont know much about the rules used here.
Edit: Actually my problem is not the shields and thermal and kinetic but the prices of the guns and all of that are really good ideas

What's the distinction?

Even only looking at the combat, EDO is a lot more complex than a lot of shooters and could probably be simplified while still being improved for those who are comparing it negatively to other shooters.

I treat EDO as a stealth shooter, excluding CZ where all hell breaks loose and you can just go for it. (Using cover and rooftops, naturally.)

I never reload or switch weapons in the open, only in cover when the enemy is shooting at me. When they've emptied their mag I pop up and pop them. (In a recent update I noticed they no longer fire blindly at the wall I'm using for cover, which makes for more realistic gameplay. Curses.)
