Totally dumb question from the man who inspired Jethro Tull's "Thick As A Brick"

I really don't mind if you sit this one out.... but I have a question. Best answer wins a shrubbery.

Given that we already had something approaching a "boots on the ground" experience with the SRV, why couldn't Odyssey have been released with the existing SRV mechanics recalibrated to human motion physics, and reskinned the SRV interior/exterior to match a human helmet/suit? Then, I'd imagine it wouldn't be crazy difficult to take existing bases and installations, slap some doors on them, and then create some nifty looking interiors.

The cut scenes from ship to SRV could likewise be modified for disembarking, or using the lifts from hangar to station concourses, etc., etc.

In short, Horizons looked good enough for me....could all of this have been avoided?

And (or).....could they still just take Horizons, clone it, make some tweaks as noted above, then reverse engineer all the supposed bright and shiny Odyssey stuff as eventual updates? That seems like a pretty good shortcut to ensuring it would play on consoles.

Please point out my ignorance.

Thanks and o7, kids.

Because it wouldn't have destroyed their share price as skillfully as this version does?

Interesting thesis. You have entered the shrubbery sweepstakes, while I will await the future with patience and optimism*
