Roller Coasters Tower of Babel [Darkride]

Update 1

Welcome to my new project: Tower of Babel (first semi-darkride[big grin])

Some of you may know this story. As legend tells everybody spoke the same language before the great floods (where we know Noah from). When people knew that the flood was coming they build a tower to get so high that they would be able to go to God and escape the floods. God prevented this by changing the languages causing the build to be abandoned. This coaster is based on this story but God didn't had anything to do with this tower...

Update 2

Welcome back everyone. I'm extremely hyped for the next update but we'll just have to wait. Because of the wait I've decided to try not to use the new parts until this is done. I'll add those parts when the entire structure is finished.

Anyway here the second part of Tower of Babel. This time I've build the front entrance of the building. So no interior works this time around.

Update 3

Well here we are again people! In this episode we'll be making the first room and lifthill. People who watch the timelapse will see that this ride is getting loaded with triggerd events.

Update 4

The building once again starts to grow and gains some actual body. It's starting to take shape and the complexity of the track and building become clear. As you all know I'm not really talking much in my updates so I won't do that now either

This reminds me of the rooftop garden in Shadow of the Colossus, and the last guardian. Super cool, good job

It reminds me of a painting by Bruegel the Elder, which I'm sure is deliberate

I'm a big Bruegel fan, both Elder and Younger.

That's some nice modeling. But the official account places the tower of Babel after the flood, not before. And God looked down on their efforts and was not pleased with their pride so he scatter man across the face of the earth and confused their languages.
Anyway, that's some really nice modeling!!!!!

I had to look up the rooftop of the Shadow of the Colossus and I can see why you're reminded by it. But the truth is that I've got my inspiration from the Bruegel painting. I'm glad to see that the building gets recognized and I thank you both for your comments [wink]

I've taken this into calculation. I'll build high enough to just tickle his toes, he'll probably won't mind[tongue]

Oh my you're right. Thank you very much for pointing this out to me. I'll make sure to put the right story in the POV movie. I'm glad you like it and thank you again for letting me know. Would have been a shame if the wrong story would be in the movie [big grin]

Update 5

Woohoo here is another update of the Tower of Babel.

It's a bit earlier than you're probably used to but that is because I'm going on vacation and won't be back before next week.

Anyway in this update I've been bussy with making the construction around the first loop and a part of the second loop. As always here are the pictures:

Thank you again for your comment(s). Putting the Bruegel people and monsters on the battlements is an excellent idea but my intentions are to give it an abandoned feeling. Besides the thing that haunts the Tower [big grin]

Hello people!

It has certainetly been a while but here is the next update of ToB. In this update you'll find out that the darkride has an extra punch besides the lifthill and little scares. Lately I've been bussy with theming that part of the ride. Also I included some pictures showing the complication of things:

Update 7

Another friday and another episode of Tower of Babel.

This time I've been working on the biggest hall inside the Tower. As you might see in the picture I tried to design the hall in such a way that it gives different scenes for each time that you're passing through.So let's have a look at those scenes (sorry for the dark pictures):

Final Update 8

Woohoo here is finally the last part of Tower of Babel. The Tower is now officially finished. Going to tweak a bit here and there and then on to recording the POV!

RELEASE !!!

Because of reaching 250 subscription on YouTube I burned down half my laptop to get the POV on ASAP. Well the movie has finally made it's way through the Tower and escaped it's evil claws.[big grin]

A united humanity of generations following the Great Flood are speaking a single language and migrating eastwards. There they agree to build a city and a tower tall enough to reach heaven.

God, observing their city and tower, created different languages so that they could no longer understand each ochter. In addition he scatters them around the world. The Tower has been discovered and when people entered they soon found out that God had nothing to do with this tower. The real reason of its abandonment is far more malevolent.

Enter the Tower and relive what the people of Babel have been through.
