Track IR and Joysticks not working in Premium Beta build?

I dunno if this is a known problem or if there's a fix for it, but ever since I set my controller to my TFlight thingy, the menus cycle through all the options at lightning speed. Game plays fine, but selecting any menu options is somewhat challenging. It even does it when the joystick's not plugged in, so I can't change the input device.

Oh and
So prem beta peoples, what's the version number in the top left?

Alpha 1.1

Do you have vjoy installed or another controller of any kind plugged in? If so uninstall and unplug ;p

I can't get the Warthog to work either or more precisely not all of it. Some axes and buttons work, some don't. It's a moot point though because unless I switch to keyboard or keyboard/mouse my ship is uncontrollable. As soon as I activate any kind of joystick support my ship starts spinning in endless circles and I can not throttle down either, just up.
Seems like the Windows controller calibration does not properly carry over to the game and since there is no calibration within the game there is nothing one can do to fix the controls.

So in essence the game is completely unplayable in this state, at least with a Warthog and Saitek pedals.
Oh well. Guess that's it for now then. Quite the short premium beta experience :) . I hope we'll get a more workable solution one of these days.

Sounds as if the controls are mis-matched to something, or you've selected without knowing it something that's mapped. For example, if you select the Warthog setup yaw is matched to the left throttle. If you had that at minimum throttle you'd be forever yaw-ing left.

I recommend to all who have pedals to physically disconnect them for this build, as they interfere with all other axes. Multiple device input with axes have been fixed in the later releases but were not in 1.1

To be honest its too much hassle to unplug my pedals and button boxes. BE SURE when the controller issue is sorted , hopefully very Soon, I will be enjoying it :)

Oh noes!

Have a rummage and unplug the pedals, just one USB. Go on, you know you want to!

Thanks for the hints, guys. I found out that it's fine if you just don't touch the pedals. As soon as you have used the pedals just once is when the spinning begins, even if you clear the axis in options afterwards or go back to the main menu. You have to exit the game and not touch the pedals at all to make the spinning stop. So don't use your pedals at all, not even as a foot rest! :)

Now I'm having some throttle issues instead after switching back and forth between full range and forward only. I guess it's probably best to decide on one setting and leave it at that. The game in this state doesn't seem to "like" switching back and forth because then the calibration gets messed up, possibly exacerbated by the fact that I'm using the Warthog throttle with the reverse thrust pin installed (for FSX).

Well, at least I can fly in a straight line now and do some testing w/o going crazy from all the spinning so that is something at least :) .

had the same

The fix for this is to go into your user profile then AppData\Roaming\Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous\Options then delte the options file.
Then dont do it again !!!!!

The reason for that is, that the game does not see the pedals as another axis, we need multiple joystick support!!

It''s in, just not in 1.1

Exactly. I'm just trying the 1.1 build myself (it's a sign of the potential of the Beta) and I expect bugs to be present that were fixed in later phases, including the inability to see multiple controllers in the game properly.

In the meantime, I'm just using a game pad until the first beta release hits my hard drive in May.

When I started in Alpha, I created this guide for TRACKIR.. You may be able to use its info for Alpha 1.0 series of Premium beta access..

http://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=11117&highlight=trackir+guide

THx, but setting up TrackIR in general is not the problem, even though TrackIR runs before ED and i wear my hat etc nothing happens ingame, so i assume TrackIR did not work in Alpha 1.1? I can see a 3d/Rift option in the menu though, wasn't it the version when they implemented TrackIR?

OK, so nothing I have will work on this version of the game......brilliant! Guess I'll have to wait it out 'til it's either fixed or the Beta releases next month!

My trackIR worked straight away with no configuration required, but a load of the axis were inverted for some reason. Also the sensitivity was way too high.

I had to artificially correct in the trackir software to fix it in game.
