Hardware & Technical TrackIR CPU useage

I mentioned this in passing on another thread - but it seems that my TrackIR 5 is using unusual amounts of CPU.

In Elite it's 26%. In SC it goes above 50% (working on screenshot for that)

That's weird, is there some kind of conflict with some other software? I read somewhere that another fellow had a similar issue, think it was some kind of ambient light software. When he removed that, cpu usage was back to normal.

Interesting - I also have those ambient gaming lights. I'll see if disabling them improves anything, but they are a lot of fun!

The ambient light is a facility that M$ helpfully included in W7 and W8. Basically it monitors the ambient light on your screen and adjusts the screen brightness to compensate.

It's for spoilt office workers and similar types who get over paid for pushing paper around.

You can turn it off, along with loads of other services.
