Release Trade Computer Extension Mk.II

Another fast update (as usual :D). New mileage counter appears to be working perfectly, however since 1.6.3.6 the station/market visit counter is not auto-incrementing. It has to be altered manually each time to reflect the number of visits.

The system visit counter appears to be OK.

Thanks for reporting, found the issue, blocking the complete update of a market on docking.
So another update will be released tomorrow!;)

Thanks for the updates Eventure.

I spent half of today doing Passenger missions so I could make a concentrated effort at populating my market database. After adding about 50 stations, I landed on another station and when I added the market to the database, the 'connecting' indicator, and the 'wait' indicator that pops up after clicking 'save' both got stuck in an endless loop, and when i closed ED I saw a Windows error message saying something with TCE had gone wrong. (didnt think to SS it, sorry). So I reloaded and the same problem happened.

I decided to click "verify" in the TCE launcher and it found an error with the registered markets. Clicking 'repair', led to more error messages when it got to registered markets, and each one took a long time to load and 'ok', so I didnt finish the process since there were so many markets to try and manually click through. So then I thought that updating TCE might fix it, so I updated from 1.6.3.4 to 1.6.3.6. Then I tried using the 'restore' button, but it gave me more errors when it got to the 'credit history' line since that was a new entry.

The backups weren't working so then I thought it might be easier to just create a new initial database, and then repopulate the info using TCE Relay. So I created a new database 40 lightyears around my position without planetary bases, and ran TCE Relay to get price info. Whenever I log in though, none of the markets have any data in game now. There is no price information and things are just acting weird.

Is there any way to recover all the work I put in today? Or are things just messed up too badly to fix at this point?

Thanks for any help.

Difficult to say, why not sending me your ErrorReportFiles for a check?

Yes, I am more than happy to do that for you. How do I do that?

Edit: Also, in the spirit of trying to provide all the information that might be helpful, I ran the initial database generator again from a clean database.
It produced 952 registered markets. When I run TCE Relay with max price age set to 30, I get roughly 350 prices in the database readout.

What is particularly odd, is that the systems and stations that I have been visiting very consistently for the past week have no data on them after running TCE Relay. These are stations that I know for a fact are getting updated on EDDB from my submissions, and I can see on the website that these particular stations were updated within the last 24 hours. Why aren't these being populated by TCE Relay, but a few random markets that I've never been to are(and some of those are indeed almost 30 days old)?

You can do it via the Report A Bug button at the Launcher.

1. Click onto the REPORT A BUG button.
2. If you have registered your E-Mail app at windows, it should appear with a small description, what has to be done to give a complete bug report.
3. Attach the ErrorReportFiles.7z file, which was created at the TCE installation folder, to your report.

TCE-Relay is currently offline, sending only Markets to create a starter database. A TCE user tries to bring it online again, but can't say, when it is back.
So the market data only coming from your visits at the moment.

When I click the REPORT A BUG button, it just gets stuck saying CREATING REPORT. I have my TCE folder open and saw the ErrorReportFiles.7z file get created, but its still just stuck on CREATING REPORT.

I'm not sure what you mean by step 2? Maybe this comes after the part that my TCE seems to be stuck on?

And I see, that is very unfortunate about TCE Relay, a very useful function to have. So if it is not working, why do I still get SOME price data, but not all?

Thank you for your help!

EDIT: Another update! When I had the TCE Relay 'Max Age' set to 30, I got 325 market prices. Then I increased it to 60, and got 398 market prices. Then I increased it to 120, and I got 52,784 market prices!

So TCE Relay is definitely pulling market prices from somewhere, but for whatever reason its accessing very old information for some stations even though they have much newer information available on EDDB.
So even though this information is very old, its better than nothing and is at least good enough to jump start the planning of trading routes.

TCE_RELAY stopped working on the 08/08/2017, so you have data up until that date and nothing afterwards.

Hi, it's me again, sorry. :p I have another bug report. As I said, I'm flying station to station updating the old TCE Relay info right now, and when I updated this station (zosia : sharp enterprise), I closed the game and TCE, rebooted both, verified all the database info again, and when i launched TCE, it shows this now. There are 2 of the same station, with different Ls distances, and there is no information in the lower half of the navigation window like there usually is.

Yea, I found the issue. You can also create a report through the Options panel, this is working, or you pack manually the DB and CMDR folder, plus adding the TCE.config file and send it to eventure(at)ki.tng.de.

Hangar issues

Hi Eventure

Presumably you are still working on the latest update.

Just in case you can squeeze these bug fixes in with this update I have listed below a few issues I have come across.

- When an Imperial Courier (ship type ID 17) is added to the Hangar it is detected and stored as type 29 - which is a Cobra Mk IV
- There is no scroll bar on the Hangar ship list, so only the first 5 ships added are shown although the ship count increments correctly (so presumably the other ships have been added).
- When attempting to replace the picture of a particular ship the picture appears to have been taken but the old image is still shown in the Hangar picture

Thanks

I only have two ships but I've been able to take a picture of both ships and the correct pictures are shown. Do no new pictures show at all for any ship that you have taken a picture off for you? Could be due to the number of ships you have if it doesn't I guess.

I have a similar prob atm.
AFAIK, Eventure had to rework the hangar another time and will release an update/full release on the weekend, so please be patient.

It is a little confusing. In some instances it appears to retain the 'stock' image but indicates (by change of icon in upper left corner of image) that the picture shown is other than the 'stock' image (not sure where the 'stock' images are stored in TCE but they are not under TCE2\CMDR\MAEDHROS\SHIPS where the updated images are stored). For some however the updated image is shown - there appears to no rhyme or reason as to which it is. :S

The detection of the right ship is more difficult than I thought, because Frontier using incomplete or different names of ship types in the journal.
I spoke to Otis B., the creator of EDMC, and he offered me to provide a more informative hangar output of the cAPI, so I have to adapt TCE to the new output format, when the new version of EDMC was released.

Currently, I am working at the new Shopping panel to include it into the next release. There will be no more updates for the v1.6.3, all will come with the upcoming V1.6.4,
because of some important database upgrades, especially for a working ship type detection.
Additionally I will add an auto-login to the launcher, I am tired to hit the Login button on every start.:D

The default pictures of all ships types are stored at the JPG folder. Your own ship pictures will get a new name format with the actual version of TCE, looking like "IDXX_ShipTypeName.png" at the CMDR\Name\Ships folder.
So every picture without an ID before could be removed, or will automatically removed when moving to the next full version.

Hi Eventure.

Love the latest update changes, they've been quite helpful. At least for what I'm currently doing in game, running missions. I can see there is a lot more to TCE for things I'm not currently doing, but will be very useful to me when I begin doing those things. Thanks!

A couple things I've noticed. When the Icons disappear, it leaves visible a little bit of the bottom of the clock (if you have it enabled) and the Mission counter icon. Hopefully that's not too difficult to fix. Actually it would be nice if the clock remained entirely visible but it's not critical if it disappears with the icons (since I have another clock on my desk :p ) though I had been glancing at the TCE clock more often, since it's easier to get my eyes to and I don't have to take my eyes off the screen.

Also when you click the Mission count icon (with the little globe), which brings up a smaller Mission panel, I don't see a way to change the font size (e.g. a 'Control' option) for that panel. Can that be added?

Finally, as a new feature request. On the System Summary panel (I use the old style, which I personally like better), it would be great if I could quickly see the planetary body which I'm nearest, as well as the station / outpost I'm nearest. Sorting the entire list by nearest to farthest from your current location might be difficult, but I see that there are filters for the Inner System Locations list. If I could filter out all other Inner System locations except for the body and/or station that I'm nearest to that would be excellent. I particularly like to see the summary information for the planet I'm about to land on (like diameter, gravity, etc..), I could bring up the in-game map and click on the planet to get that info (which takes my eyes off the view screen), or I can scroll through the TCE Inner System Locations on the Summary panel (which can be cumbersome if there are a lot of planets in the system).

Anyway, if that's possible I'd love to see that in TCE. Thanks!

is the EDMC update not functional anymore as whenever I click on update it says server offline. I've only just returned to Elite after a break and I am trying to play catch up with all the apps I used to use, especially TCE.

Hangar - nice to have features

Hi Eventure

I realise that you are hard at work with the latest update and wouldn't want to slow down the release of this :p

However, I thought I'd just let you know of a few features that IMHO would make the Hangar panel easier to use: -

- have an option to filter the display (once you get more than a dozen or so ships it can get difficult to get the information you need)
- reinstate the distance (from your location) into the display
- have an option to sort the display on a number of variables i.e. on mileage, on distance (from your current location) etc

If I'm lucky you will probably have included all this anyway - but if not !!
