Hey all! EDMC dev here. Looking into this, will see if I can figure out what's going on :)

EDIT: Bug identified and fixed. 5.10.1 on the way!
Hi thanks for your answer.

I still have a problem after the update. I still can't switch to "on" the market connector app on TCE.

It's probably me the problem :p
Thanks for your help.

I had a similar issue What I did was uninstalled EDMC and then re-installed in the default location "C:\Program Files (x86)\EDMarketConnector" and for some reason it then let me change the service from Off to ON.

Since some weeks now I have the following problem : "Server is down". Don't know if it a TCE or EDMC problem

Same problem here, it won't let me activate the service. It also doesn't update my commander profile, I have restarted both TCE and the game, and verified the databases. I have over 1Billion credits now and at Elite trader rank.

Hi Eventure,

My problem is similar, in my case running the program EDMC directly from my pc it works perfectly but when run from TCE is insists that "the server is down".

I have reinstalled the latest release but that does not fix it.

I can deactivate and activate it, I have re-selected the apps file path but nothing makes it work.

Thanks for any help.

Martin

Hi Arnak,

it seems to be an EDMC issue and I suggest to return to an older version until the issue is fixed by Rixxan.
Checkout these release versions and I would begin with the 5.9: https://github.com/EDCD/EDMarketConnector/releases

Hey everyone,

I'm unable to replicate any issues with TCE on EDMC 5.10.1. If an upgrade to 5.10.1 and manually re-selecting the file path in TCE does not solve the issue, please try the following and report back:
  1. Uninstall EDMC
  2. Restart your PC
  3. Install EDMC 5.10.1 OR 5.9.5 to the default file path chosen by the installer
  4. Verify working TCE integration
  5. If installing 5.9.5, and TCE works, please try and upgrade to EDMC 5.10.1 directly (the inbuilt updater should do this).
If issues or errors continue to persist, please comment on the EDMC Forum Thread, as the issue likely lies with EDMC and not TCE and I don't want to take over eventure's thread :)

Hopefully, we can diagnose these remaining holdout issues, though I am not sure what could be causing them by looking at the changes between 5.9.5 and 5.10.1 outside of the one bug in 5.10.0 that has been fixed already.

Hi,
as per the instructions on this thread I installed the previous release which worked then updated to the latest and got the message server down.

So that didn't fix the problem.8-((

So staying with 5.9.5

Hi Eventure, given EDDB is now gone, wondered if you have considered another method of market data gathering. I see that Spansh (https://spansh.co.uk/dumps) and EDSM (https://www.edsm.net/en/nightly-dumps) both have nightly market data dumps available (links given to left), similar to EDDBs. EDSM looks to be the closest to what EDDB format.
If this is not possible, would it be possible to add some buttons to fire off searches at Inara and/or Spansh for trade routes? For both, the search parameters can be placed in the URL.

One other feature that I would like (if trade data is available) is a list of all the good available within the trade range. I don't see that anywhere. This would be useful for those 'industry needs' missions. At the moment, I use the cheapest price finder to determine if there is a market in range and repeat for every ware.

Thanks for the good work.

E,

You are still here supporting your TCE Mk II. Very good to see that man.

With the announcement about update 18, 19, ship variants, and power play rework, I'm getting back into ED, with the hope they don't fuss it all up.

Anyway, good to see you're still at it man, and appreciate TCE Mk II.

Hello,
I have looked at some data and it is similar to EDDB, however I see a few problems such as the data count as it is considerably higher than EDDB (65k+ EDDB stations to 315k+ from EDSM). Simply loading the data results in a significantly higher requirement for RAM memory (max. 21 GB). This will also significantly increase the time required to process the data. So I'm not sure if all of this can be accomplished in a tolerable amount of time.

I'll take a look at the matter to be able to assess it a little more precisely and to further improve the performance of TCE in processing the data.

Since I recently upgraded my machine (from 8 logical cores to 24) and also doubled the RAM (from 16 to 32 GB), it will counteract the problem accordingly, but I'm not sure if this will work for everyone user applies.

So give me some time to assess whether it would be possible.

Thanks and I decided to further update TCE along with the updates of ED.

Thanks for the update. I have been looking at the same as well as part of my 'investigation'. Pity the EDSM data is not in jsonl format, however as each line in the station json encapsulates one station in the array of stations, there is a workaround to avoid reading the entire array and that is to read a single line and deserialize that one line to a class and therefore process each station individually and disposing of it before moving to the next, so the memory overhead is only one station, not 300k stations. I can paste the few lines here if you wish in case it could be of use.
