Release Trade Computer Extension Mk.II

I am moving around quite a bit in a smaller ship and finding a lot of OUTPOSTS.

That choice is not available in the Station Type list anymore. Was that on purpose ?

not a big deal, i just select Civilian Outpost, just curious.

Nothing else to report, TCE is working GREAT !!!!

Eventure, the new panel looks awesome.

I'd like to make a small suggestion:
A search function.
E.g. i use the stored locations, res. extraction for keeping track on what materials to find on which planet.
When searching now, it only finds entries in the trade range. Setting that to 300 or more to cover the bubble slows
almost everything down. So how about a search mask, where you can select (checkbox) the different areas you want to search in,
and are given a list with the results?

I'd like to hear your opinions, and further ideas on how to implement that.

Hi punkerich,

I am quite busy at the moment including the new journal features into TCE, so your suggestion is noted. The slowdown by increasing the trade range comes mostly from processing the star systems, so my approach on the sllow down issue could be a single search range for every tab (Star System, Trade Markets and Stored Locations, the Region Summary has is already). So I can uncouple trade markets and stored locations from the Trade Range selection and that should remove the overall slowdown of TCE by high trade ranges. Give me time to think about, how to display that in an understandable way at the panel. The requirement is, that the search range has to be always displayed.

The new Personal panel has changed a little, because we don't get the reputation rank/% to next rank and the rebuy cost of your current ship from the journal, so I am thinking of adding to modify the Jump Range at that panel and removing it from the Navigation panel.

Hello, I apologies if this has been brought up before but I can't seem to find how to search for posts in this thread.

I have recently installed TCE mk.II and have run into the issue that both the "Control" and "Routes" tabs are outside of my monitor. I am running a duel screen setup with my main monitor resolution being 1600x900.
Any help would be appreciated.

The resize panel is under the current version is the "Control" button that found by clicking the time in the upper-left corner.
then select Panel
Then change the Panel and Font size to meet your needs

Sounds pretty good to me!

IIRC, they are always civilian outpost, if you came across one. Don't know, why FDev didn't change it.

Every panel has a CONTROL button at the top-left position, where you can change it's size. The Main UI has it hidden under CONTOLS > PANEL. Don't forget to press SAVE CHANGES after you have changed the values.
Remember, changing the size of the panel requires to change the font size too to display the content of the panel properly.

If you using EDMC via TCE (with the CONNECT button), the Credit panel will show the proper amount of credits. The value, you can enter, at the Personal panel is for players, that are not using EDMC.
When starting TCE, you will see the credit value at START CREDITS. With every use of EDMC, the UNASSIGNED category value increases, if not distributed to the categories. All sums to the END CREDITS value. That is your current cash value.

With the ED 2.2 update, it is not longer needed to fill the categories yourself by hand, it will be filled automatically by your actions in-game. Furthermore the Credits panel will be integrated into the new Personal panel, as shown above.

2.2 update? Ummm. There's no 2.2 update though...?? Unless you're talking about a future update?

... but I can't seem to find how to search for posts in this thread.

easy, but not always obvious.

Must be logged in as 'search thread' does not show unless logged in.
Top of page, just above the first msg on that page, on the right side
you will see 'Thread Tools', Search Thread' and 'Display'
click 'Search Thread'

good luck

This is part of the issue. I cannot access the main ui CONTROLS as it is off the left of my monitor. Because of this, I cannot resize the main ui and must force TCE to close by ending its process from the task manager.

Here is a screenshot showcasing the issue, it shows both my monitors and where the tabs are on my screens.

Enhancing ED just makes me nervous I'll it. I nearly borked my Neverwinter Nights install by not using mods/enhancements properly.

Basically it's an app, not a mod. The difference is that a app runs on it's own, and it doesn't affect the actual game.
There ARE 2 things you MIGHT need to do that are not that clear...
Adding VerboseLogging="1" to the right file
make sure you are running TCE in Admin mode

Feel free to ask if you get stuck.

EDIT: Oh hang on, I think I got it now, was the optional extras that confused me for a sec.
Silly question, rather than download the current version THEN the update, why not amalgamate the update into the current version and just have that, making it into the 'new' version? avoiding a two step process.

OK, so dowloaded the update, clicked on that and just opens a folder with mk II files in it? I thought it was a program that updated TCE, do I cut and paste these files into a particular TCE folder?

Great thing about TCE is it may encourage FD to revise the horrendously clunky trading screen

You've never seen a more active Dev,
Updates come out very fast to fix small problems that pop up and let us test the fixes.
Once it settles donw new amalgamated version come out.

It's only 2 step if you install for the first time and happen to be between we full version.

It makes for a quicker rollout and the copy to replace the few files that have changed on small updates is pretty painless.

Welcome to TCE, just give it a chance, pretty soon you won't want to play without it ! :)

At the risk of pointing out that which you already figured out and much of which has already been stated by others...
As Bragolatch points out, Eventure is active and responsive. The updates are generally in response to little problems that pop up. Just unzip an update and manually copy over the existing files in the main TCE folder. Smooth and easy. Less messy than a full install to replace an old one; certainly more involved. You will see that once installed and up & running this is always a one-step process: periodic full installs and multiple updates between.

This assumes you have installed the most recent full version; yup, just copy over.

Ok then, we have another optimist in the thread :D

Oh hang on, I think I got it now, was the optional extras that confused me for a sec.

Speaking of optional extras, be sure to install EliteOCR and EDMarket Connector. These do not modify ED and are optionally used by TCE, making it all work even more smoothly.

It took me a while to get used to using TCE. I used a lot of the web based tools and another program called TradeDangerous (TD). All of these are very good. However, once I got up to speed w TCE, never looked back.

I tried to import the full EDDB but unfortunately your program does not work with the ammount of entries and I get an IndexOutOfBoundsException(probably because I didn't chage the station ids from EDDB and your program seems to need increasing numbers without "holes" for whatever reason).
P.S.: Your way of coding is incredible inefficient and terrible to read.

Sorry, but TCE is not designed for other data than it's own, EDDB data is not compatible with TCE data. You know nothing about it, which relationship is necessary. You can't take data from other app's for TCE and complain about, that the data is not readable. Man, think about!

I am not a pro in coding, I said that many times and a year before, I didn't know nearly anything about VB.net.
But if you feel, you can make it better yourself, go create your own app and feel fine. But don't bother me with such a nonsense.
