Release Trade Computer Extension Mk.II

Hello!

It seems that the auto-destination feature doesn't take into account the size of the ship. For example, with my imperial cutter, the proposed destination is an outpost with only small pads. Tried to set the minimum landing size pad on large in settings (instead of automatic) but doesn't change anything. Did i misundertood something?

Thanks for your great work!

Hi there,
unfortunately, the filter can sometimes be inaccurate because the crowdsourced data for the station type from Spansh is not always accurate or is missing altogether.
What type of station (which the filter checks) was then displayed to you when you or the AD system selected the station as the destination?

Ok I'm dumb. I thought that clicking on auto destination frame would open the corresponding station in the navigation panel, but it opens the first station in the list of market places instead. Didn't even check the name... The station selected by auto-destination had actually large pads. Sorry!
(is there a way to open the corresponding auto-destination station in navigation panel?)

The station should be displayed by clicking on the Destination display in the navigation panel, but I see that this no longer works. This will be fixed with the next update.
Thank you for asking!

Version [1.9.4.5] released
Changelog:
  • Added a more detailed analysis of the station type of markets from the crowdsourced data to TCE-Relay.
  • Fixed an issue where the displayed destination market was not automatically highlighted and displayed in the Navigation panel when clicking on the Destination display.
  • Fixed some display issues of commodity names in the Navigation, Trade Overview and Commodity panel.
Notes:
Either download the version above, install and transfer your old database, or use the auto-update function of the launcher.
Click the 'new version' notice at the bottom of the launcher.

If you find an error, please report and use the Report a Bug button at the launcher and don't forget to copy the error details and ErrorReportFile.7z archive.

I can't seem to get the route planner to work.

Below is my setting (I even tried including all commodities and nothing changed)

And Below here is the result when I press select current station. (please note I am docked in Miller Depot in the system Barnard's Star.

All depends on your database, how many markets are in there, how updated the data is and more.
Do you use TCE-Relay to bring your database up to date?
You are welcome to send me your database (create a bug report from the launcher), attach the ErrorReportFile.7z and I will then check where the problem lies.

Yeah, I found out it failed to download the database. I re-downloaded the database (it took 30 min) and now it works.
There are a few other bugs like modules crashing, and windows moving when my mouse is moving inside the game, but nothing that a good restart of the TCE client does not fix.

  1. Loading issues:
    1. Sometimes hovering over an icon takes a while for animation to happen.
    2. Clicking an icon while animation is slow slows down the application further to such a degree it crashes sometimes.
    3. Running multiple monitors, and sometimes getting into combat makes other modules be 95% opacity and none interactable nor updates data.
      1. Cargo module, route module, trade overview module and navigation module.
    4. Sometimes when moving modules if the application hangs while moving, the modules will then follow the mouse forever as if stuck to the mouse. Restarting the application fixes this.
  2. Other issue:
    1. Memory leaks when using the application for more than 2 hours in a row. Goes from 1200 MB usage to 3-5 GB usage. (32 GB RAM total)
    2. The application randomly freezes anywhere between 2 to 4 hours of usage.
Not sure how to share the database. It says it is too large to attach to this forum.

What is your selected Trade Range?

Thanks, all loading issues you reported depend on your computer's specs, especially your CPU but also your GPU which displays the HUD in 2D, so it's recommended to install up to date drivers and update Windows.
Please check if animations get stuck or the app freezes what the CPU load is.
Most users set the Trade Range too high, but your selected Trade Range value is the default, which is good.
TCE processing alot of data in the back. Depending on the number of markets, commodities and Trade Range, the RAM requirement can go up to 8 GB.
That's okay, if you have enough, otherwise you have to reduce the Trade Range.

I didn't have any of the issues you reported, so I can't reproduce them.

My PC specs are:
Intel i7-13700KF (not overclocked)
RTX 4090 (not overclocked)
32GB RAM
Windows 11 (latest update)

What are yours?

I will test CPU usage next time I play.

For now, these are my specs:
Ryzen 7 3700X (overclocked to 4.2 GHz All Core)
RTX 3070 (not overclocked)
32 GB DDR4 3600 MHz RAM
Windows 11 (latest update)

I just noticed there was an update to the GPU driver. I will also check if issues persist next time I play.

EDIT: I also tried changing the trade range. With the lowest configuration, TCE used between 1-2 GB RAM. And with the highest..... let's just say I need more RAM if I want to use that since it uses between 23-28 GB of RAM. Forcefully crashing other applications to steal more RAM.

Okay after updating Geforce drivers, I haven't had any of the abovementioned issues. In addition, I lowered the trading range so now the client only uses 1.2 GB of RAM at the most.

The only annoying thing about the client is that if I got into combat moving my mouse around sometimes causes me to click the icon which then causes me not to be able to shoot or manoeuvre, is there a way to disable icons while you are in combat?

Other than that I love your client when I'm doing trading.

Yes, you have two options you can try (from the wiki):
1. Auto-Hide UI on Interdictions: Select this option and TCE will hide it's interface automatically, if you got interdicted within a star system. The interface will reappear as soon as you return to supercruise, jumping into a different star system or by pressing the key to Show/Hide Interface.
2. Manual Focus: Select this option and TCE is no longer responsive through the mouse controller (useful, if you are flying with your mouse). But you have to select a key for the Focus Interface keybind to activate this option. Press the selected key to normally use the interface with your mouse controller.

Both options can be found at the Options panel.

Hope that helps!

Version [1.9.4.6] released
Changelog:
  • Added missing Guardian allegiance picture and icon file to the installation folder.
  • Fixed an error due to missing Guardian allegiance gfx files.

My TCS is stuck on "Preprocessing Completed" and the tray app isn't running anymore. The only thing that I changed since the last time (when it worked) was to stop the service, re-check "add unexplored star systems" (it always seems to uncheck itself), increase the size of the sphere/trade range, and restart the service since I wasn't finding anything useful in my searches.

Any idea what might be going on? The only buttons that work in the left nav are Wiki/Donate/Forum/Changelog so I'm unable to click the Reort A Bug button.

Hmm.... hard to tell, but let's try...

1. Please verify your databases.
2. Try to start the service from the Options panel after you have launched TCE.
3. Reduce the sphere range back to the default value (100 LY) to see, if something changes.
4. Let TCE-Relay start with Windows (see TRAY SETUP) and let it complete the preprocessing until you activate the service again.

If all fails, I need a bug report incl. your files so I can try to recreate your issue. I have run a test with the actual dump files and all worked fine here.
