Release Trade Computer Extension Mk.II

As long as they are included into the EDDB nightly dump, but there is another problem. TCE includes only those stations actually, which star system is already available at the star system database. Because it isn't far from complete, should TCE add the corresponding star systems for those stations automatically?
@ Checked the number of stations, which star systems are not included in TCE, which are 1,5k from 62,5k.
I guess yes, you would include systems. I had assumed that it worked this way currently: Download system and station data from EDDB, get current user coordinates, check current coordinates against list of stars from EDDB. Filter out stars > radius. Within remaining stars, identify all station from EDDB. Filter out stations > distance from star. Add/update systems and stations to TCE. So I don't see the problem you see. From you description maybe you are doing it some other way, or are you thinking of a station that exists, yet no-one has gone to with EDMC to have it reported? I guess that is possible, but you can only include what is in EDDB.

I mean all stations available from EDDB or at least all available from the nightly dump, which of course isn't the complete list of stations.
This have to be coupled with adding then previously unknown star systems to the database.
Correct. I was thinking more on this. I like the freeform text entry distance better than the options boxes for distance. You can then put in 21,000 LY to include Colonia if you want, or any other number based on how for you are willing to travel. It means you don't have to code the check boxes as well.

One more thing. This just happened to me. I ran TCE and my center system is UNKNOWN. I don't know if this is because I ran EDMC before TCE. I have plugins for TCE, so it needs to be visible, not command line driven. It auto starts when Elite starts. In this case, I don't know how the new program will work. Hopefully it will not delete all store stations. It is not bothering me at the moment as I am far from the bubble and not trading.

Thanks for the report.
I found the issue and it has to do with star systems, that are new to TCE. They will be added to database, but the internal reference isn't updated properly.
The next version will have the fix, but it will take some time to release, so enter the Manual Destination mode, by either clicking the button above the Destination display or
deactivating the Auto-Destination feature at the Options panel, until the next version is out. That will bypass the repeating error for now.

yep that stopped the crashes for now. i was wondering if you could add a sound option that if a scanned planet is over a certain cash amount it could make a sound? that way i could set it to say like 100.000.00 so i know i found a planet worth shooting probes at?

nope. even with all the check marks in auto destination off in the options i am still getting crashes. anything you need me to do? more bug reports? or just sit tight and wait for the update?

Yep, will add a notice to the Event Reporter. A sound may follow later.
Back to your issue, do you have nothing selected as a destination (the Destination display should show NO DESTINATION SELECTED)?
Is it a different error message? If so, I require a second report, but I guess it would line up with the initial error, you reported.

I plan to release a beta for the new version (1.8.4), but I can say for sure, it will be available not before coming weekend.

Version [1.8.4.0] BETA 1 released
Changelog:
  • Added a complete rework of the EDDB-Relay interface, making it simpler and less confusing at the Extension tab of the Launcher.
  • Added an updated EDDB reference trade market database for EDDB-Relay.
  • Added a further big performance increase of EDDB-Relay Service.
  • Added a warning message to the Event Reporter, which informs the player, when leaving the known trade station sphere created by EDDB-Relay.
  • Added a partial rework of the Logbook and Bookmark database.
  • Added the number of visits to the Star System database.
  • Removed the Commodity Prices database, it's now included into the Registered Market database saving 50% space and time.
  • Fixed some spelling issue of station names at the Unregistered Market database.
  • Fixed an issue in updating newly added star systems by EDDB-Relay.
  • Fixed a missing entry of the in game market id when adding a new trade market to the database.
  • Fixed an error when selecting a nav route in game and a star system on route is unknown to TCE.
Notes:
This is a beta version! If you want to participate in the beta, please download the installer above, install it into a seperate folder and transfer your database from your previous installed version. For this purpose, enter the Database tab of the launcher and hit the Transfer button, select thereafter your old installation folder (not the DB folder) to transfer all data to the new installation. A beta release won't update itself, you have to download a new beta release and do the same as described above.

If you find an error, please report and use the Report a Bug button at the launcher and don't forget to copy the error details and ErrorReportFile.7z archive.

I like to remind any user, who wants to use TCE in french, spanish or russian to help in translating the
latest interface phrases, common commodities and rare commoditiesat OneSky. Thanks in advance.

Hello, I'm running 1.8.3.1 at the moment and I have a situation that I would like for you to look into:
I'm running two missions right now and when selecting Manual Destination allows me to make a choice in the popup Navigation panel, but I'm not able to select my own destination, it choses the bottom of the two missions by itself and not the station I click on when I select the destination button. I wanted to purchase some cargo from the station that I was at for my return trip to another station but can't check the trade prices while missions are in place. So I'm stuck.
I can click over Manual and select Auto, but that only points to the Primary mission system. I click over it again, and it says Manual Destination, and selects the second mission.
I repeat the process again to choose my own destination and again it doesn't take and leaves me on the 2nd mission destination.

Let me know if you need anything, Thanks.

Use the Mission panel, you want to choose a different mission to follow. Check the wiki (Mission panel) for further info's about the panel.

I've gone though the wiki and read the missions panel info, I get the mission options that's fine. But although I know I have two missions, how do I select a random station while having two missions or more, just to check price profits for trading with?

Click the button above the Destination display to change the mode of the auto-selection to manual, so you can select your next station from the Navigation panel,Trade Markets tab (Click onto the Destination display to open the Nav panel).
There is a 'Set Destination' button at the summary statistics below the list of stations. Click it and the Trade Overview panel shows you the info's needed.
After you know what you have to transport, you can return to the Mission Destination mode by clicking the mission listed at the Mission panel again.
Otherwise, if you have a ware already in cargo and you are looking for a place to sell it, use the Best Sell search function from the Trade Overview panel.

Is there a way we could highlight information that is "fresh" . Or otherwise show the age of information that comes in via the trade computer?

Can you be more specific, what informations you are speaking of and where do you missing the age of information?
For the commodity prices, you can see the data age at the Position and Destination displays (top-right corner second row when a market is displayed), the Navigation panel (Trade Markets tab) and the Trade Overview panel too.

Under the Trade Overview" in the "Find Location" window. I do see the "last update" where it lists the station for a given item. But personally I find a data age [such as in navigation /market places easier and faster] Right now I have to keep selecting the next "trade market" in the overview to check the last update in the destination window and then do the math to figure out the data age. I'm assuming the data age times are also displayed on a 12 hour clock since that is how my clock is set. Does that make sense?

Of course, it makes. There is some room at add an 'Age' column. Will be added with the next release.
Thanks for the suggestion.

Question for everyone. I use a 44 inch LG TV as a monitor. My screen resolution is 1360 x 768.
A lot of the Panels in Trade Computer are way oversized and cannot be used. Is there a wayto set the panels so they will work on my screen?

Hi there,
your resolution is the minimum requirement, but it will work. When launching, there will be a notice, that TCE will adjust the size for all panel accordingly.
Click YES to let TCE the work, but you have to adjust the main UI yourself.

As soon as you see the main UI, click the CONTROL button at the top left and enter the PANEL menu.
There you can adjust the size of the panel and the font. Reduce the size of the panel to about 70%, maybe alittle more, so it fits your screen.
The second part is to change the font size to about the same as the panel. After that, exit TCE and relaunch.

So when you see the UI again, adjust the font size again to be readable at the center displays. Thats all.
Each panel has a CONTROL button at the top-left corner, where you can change the size (panel size should be good, but the font size could have an adjustment),
that it fit's for you onto your screen.

As I saw in my test, that the size of the icons didn't resize properly, there will be a fix for them with the next release.

Oh, I forgot to ask, if your PC is a multi-monitor system? If so, you have to switch the Multi-Monitor option at the Options panel and then select the monitor, you want to display TCE. If your low res screen is you main monitor, nothing has to be changed in that part.

Version [1.8.4.0] BETA 2 released
Changelog:
  • Added the new automatic EDDB-Relay update feature. It updates the databases 'on-the-fly' when leaving the selected sphere of trade stations and after launching TCE automatically. The Event Reporter informs you about an update. Only available when selecting the automatic database update option at the Extension tab of the Launcher.
  • Added a Data Age column to the result list of found trade station at the 'Find Market' function of the Trade Overview panel.
  • Fixed an issue with lower resolutions than full HD, where the icons of the icon-based UI won't resize accordingly with the UI.
  • Fixed an issue with the mission tracking system for trade markets, because TCE no longer identifing markets by an internal ID.
  • Fixed an issue with the player.data file, which was sometimes not properly updated.
  • Fixed an issue with containing visited stations in an EDDB-Relay update.
