Trade Conda Pilots What Loadouts?

I still can't decide what loadout to use so please share yours here. Fsd is fully upgraded, a4 shields and x7 boosters, class c power plant, d class everything else. Gimballed pulse all round with plasma accelerator.

With strong enough shields you can get away without weapons on a trade conda if weight is your primary concern.

I use C class boostersd and thrusters (saving for A grade) Gimballed beams all round, with a beam and pulse turret. 400T cargo space.

Here is my trading loadout. The two stations I am currently trading between are just short of 22LY apart, so this enables me to do the route in one jump each way - thus maximising Cr/Tonne/Hr. I would not use this smuggling, however.

Only the prismatic shield is missing yet, not pledged long enough. With that ship interdictions are fun. When I get the usual taunt from a pirate in SC, I throttle to zero, set 3 pips sys and 3 pips weapons, then patiently wait the time the AI takes to finally line up it's interdictor. Instant submission, KWS, kill, collect bounty. Powerplay interddictions pay a lot less, but usually it's a wing of three with high rank, so my own rank increases as I take them out. Yes, it's lame, it involves no skill, but it is fun for me.

Was considering beams on the smaller hardpoints, any thoughts on dropping the plasma for a gimballed cannon?
Lost a tradeconda on the present CG running prismatic A4 shields,AO boosterts and chaff to a battleconda, so in open you take your chances. Not the first one to lose but hopefully the last but I can afford many rebuys. The annaconda is slow and can be ambushed easily in open so in dodgy areas you might want better shields to buy time but at the expence of cargo. I usually run pulse turrets except for two turret canons on the small hard points, it is only for trade and you don`t want a sustained PvP fight as it won`t end well, I have a battleconda fitted for that.

You can get a lot of shields on a trade conda. My current build has 1123MJ - http://coriolis.io/outfit/anaconda/...1.Iw18ZlA=.Aw18ZlA=?bn=Anaconda Ranged Trader

I tend to run a hybrid build. It does not have either the max cargo capacity or jump range, but is certainly good enough in both departments, having a fully loaded jump range of 17ly and 416t capacity. What you get in return is enough defences and punch to deal with just about any PvE situation (I can't comment on PvP as I have never done PvP in it). I have taken out an Elite NPC Pirate Anaconda in this without too many issues.

As I said PvE the tradeconda is more or less unbeatable, probably a bit too easy. At the same time I would`t use it in a haz res site or hi intensity CZ in trade build as you might run into problems fairly quick but for trading PvE you will have no problem with the 452tn A4 build. I have SCB`s and A7 prismatic on the Battleconda.

Cargo all the way, small shield 3 or 4, docking computer for the lazy, best FSD and Power Grid you can fit, D for the rest.
No guns.
PvP you will die if you cant run away in time, but for npc's its fine.

That's one of my setups for everyday use (Open Play) : ED Shipyard

For tougher environments, I'll likely toss in a small 4A Cell Bank and a 7th 0A Booster. Then running all Pulse/Multicannon Turrets.
Not meant for combat obviously, just good protection to get out of trouble. Will basically run 4/2/0 Pips all the time.

For lonely trading in a remote area, I'll downgrade the Shields to 5A.

I have the same, but you get ambushed in open by Cmdr`s with serious fire power your days are numbered. For PvE its a different story, its gravy and you can take on wings of enemy, there`s no comparison.

Virtually nothing can mass lock you and thus you escape before your shields (with 4 pips) are depleted. I have never been killed with this build and I have been interdicted by wings of 3-4 CMDRs several times.

If you don't PP (for the prismatic - I don't know how good it is) & intend to play in open and fly around popular areas, or are going to run CG events I would strongly suggest you swap the A4 prismatic for an A7 shield generator. If you install a shield that has an optimal hull mass far below your current ship that in effect weakens the relative shield strength. (It's like spreading butter on toast, using a small amount, and spreading it very thin)

The numbers may have been tweaked a little but Mike (Dev) explains it in this thread : LINK

Agree 100%, you would probably get away with an A6 for time to escape.
