Trading - Intermediate Level Tips

first jump in has a port 20 ls from star.... 2nd is 300 ls, and 3rd is 9ls.

also, upon exit from SC, I immediately point at the station and do 2-3 boosts towards the entrance then at 4 km i drop my gear. at 3 km I throttle to 0% once speed catches about 150, I advance to full throttle again and maintain that until just prior to touchdown. Also, make sure you exit with the planet to your rear with the station right in front of you. This will set you up in front of the opening every time. There... thats how I run a leg in 3-5 mins....

Ahh! That's how you get the entrance on the right side all the time! Thanks.

I already do the rest, SC at maximum hovering at 6/7 sec and drop with the too fast warning, 2 boosts to the station, request docking, cut throttle to glide to about 100 speed near the entrance, drop gear. Then it gets tricky as my frame rate becomes really unstable while maneuvering, I can only do at about 50-60 through the gate, then full speed to the pad and glide to a stop. Same on exit, max 100 speed until I get halfway through the exit, then boost to full speed, another boost until mass locked turns off. Laggy menus slow me down too inside the space station, plus zoning in hyper drive takes long. Maybe cause I'm in NA. Sometimes it looks like it's going to crash it takes so long.

Guys,

I do understand all the excuses. I appreciate tips. This discussion is helpful to newer cmdrs.

Yet it's not possible to do 2mln CR in 60 minutes in 120t ASP. NOT POSSIBLE.

And that being said by me, who even uses 4s approach while in supercruise to reduce approach time. Not to mention gravitational breaking, but I consider we all do it, right?

Thats why I put half a million worth 30 Imperial Slaves, to anyone who proves me wrong. With hard facts. Not forum posts. Paid by me on the spot, even tonight.

P.S. Ill put you my numbers this evening, giving estimate how much can be made in such ASP in 60 minutes.

Also, I've found that after about 6 hours of running the same route, yield per ton went down by about 50-100 creds. Anyone know when stations get restocked?

Just a bump, to confirm that so far no one decided to earn 30 Imperial Slaves in my bet.

Time to burry this thread I think :)

Let´s add to this threat that markets seem now more stable even in smaller systems, than in 1.05 where it felt like npc traders had no effect on markets, as I "crashed" prices everytime I bought my Lakon 7 full (even after a week i were on holidays).

My lazy-mans tip (havent myself bothered to find better than 1000 cr/ton per way trips):

Find high-tech economy and extraction economy (and rather have 1 empty system between them so there is not already trade of those goods between systems), sell to high-tech gold, silver, palladium, buy from there to extraction system resonating separators.

Thanks Derath

also, remember, if you approach the station with the planet behind you, you will always be facing the door. Shaves about 30-45 seconds

This is not true. Devs have confirmed that multiple times on this forum. This misinformation is a throwback to the old '84 Elite where the entrance always faced the planet. While it remains true in ED that the entrance always rotates counterclockwise, it no longer always faces the planet.

I do it in an asp with 116 tons cargo. I cannot be bothered to post proof, but seeing as I am passing this thread and I have been doing that for a few hours the other night I thought I would throw that out there.

I suspect You have fallen a victim of Barben's time dilation effect Cmdr!

I challenge you with 30 Imperial Slaves as a payment from myself to prove you're wrong. They're worth half a million CR!

P.S. Many tried, in the result, dog ate their homework in every case...

Great post OP and other contributors! I've found myself enjoying the little trade route more as well. Helping a little independent unknown area with quests to boot just pays off quicker for me, even if it's not as profitable. But to each their own.
