Newcomer / Intro Trapping a Thargoid in mines.

I have seen my first Thargoid barnacle forest visitation and it gave me an idea.

1. Find a nice barnacle forest on a low gravity world. The lower the better.
2. Position yourself a ways above the central barnacle
2. Wait/reload until a big dadder shows up.
3. As it moves into its predictable position, turn off flight assist and let yourself fall. Simultaneously, drop all of the mines so they are nicely bunched up.
4. Gtfo and watch the fireworks.

Would that work to take one down without help? My combat rating is 'an actual bowl of porridge', so you can see why I'm putting this in the newbie section.

Don't think it will work to bring down a Cyclops... but for sure it would be worth the fireworks show!

5. Kiss your soiled space suit and all its contents good bye.

So no it won't help other than to tick em off. You need ax weapons, plenty of highly engineered hull tanks and defenses to effectively take down any goids. Conventional weapons are mostly useless against em. Even then, they're a tough fight.

I think you would find that you are the fireworks ...

Thargoid interceptors have extremely high resistance to human weapons. All this would accomplish would be to make the interceptor hostile.
