Just don't forget, simulation not equals reality. ;)

And as i just said? ED's timeline already proven inaccurate in this matter.

Similarities? That's the reason it's called simulation. But similar does not means it's the same. But non the less, it's an awesome job i must give this! :)

One perk of this game that I always found amazing is how real data is incorporated into the galaxy :)

Well done as usual!

Braben is the man. Thrilled that you guys are setting a trend of flexibility with incoming new data. Makes every new real life discovery that more much more exciting when we get to visit it in game!

How about adding a station?

Run by the Trappist-1 Monks faction :D

Who brew beer from the endogenous wheat and hops-like plants that they cultivate on the planet below.

Traders come from all over the bubble to buy and export this popular drink to the neighbouring star systems.

This is why I play this game.d

Damn skippy. This is the only game in which you explore the galaxy and you know that you are, actually exploring the galaxy.

One thing, can we get the discovery tag set to something like "Spitzer" or "Gillon et. al."? i don't think it'd be fair to credit a commander with the first discovery on this one! :D

EDIT: Sorry Brett, didn't see you'd posted this above!

Yeah, this is pretty cool. There should be a tourist beacon put there too with a historical blurb about the discovery from current times! That would be a sweet way to honor the discovery!

Just don't put an Earthlike there.

Cause the chances of an Earthlike that close to Sol and that well-documented not being colonized seem nonexistent.

Edit: to avoid sounding churlish - this is really awesome though!

Well, a little late to the party, I know, but I'd still like to add my congratulations to Frontier on Stellar Forge, yet again, proving itself. David Braben must be thrilled and over-whelmed at the culmination of 30+ years resulting in a model that is, despite obvious constraints, proving itself more and more in modelling the observable cosmos.
(still want to shake the hand of whoever convinced him that a pure-Newtonian physical approach to ship travel and combat were not conducive to a GAME.)

Time for a petition! :)

Great news.

Any chance of doing the same thing for Cassiopeia A? A lot of us have gone out looking for it since Cas A is one of the most studied objects in our galaxy. Back in November I led an expedition to try an locate suitable candidate neutron stars in the basic area of space where we would expect to find the beautiful supernova remnant.

We found a couple of decent candidates: Hypheeg DH-T D4-3 and Hypheerb KO-G d11-1

It would be super awesome if one of these could be updated to "Cassiopeia A" in the galaxy map and even better if the associated supernova remnant could be rendered around the neutron star (I've seen this done on some of the other procedurally generated neutron stars).

Here's the expedition video I produced for the project:

I have always felt that David Braben and or Frontier should receive an Astronomical award for their contribution to educating people about the subject. I knew virtually nothing about the different stars and planetary types before playing E.D.. They have taken the hard approach of trying to build the game around the science.
