Travel Time through Hyperspace

Does the travel time through hyperspace always stay the same? For example in-game it always takes a few seconds. If the distance increases will it take longer?

If you want a sci-fi "lore" explanation: the time taken for a hyperspace jump is in the entry and exit - in other words, the seconds that elapse during a jump are a result of punching holes in the universe at the entry and exit points. The actual transit time in hyperspace between those two points is zero, so it doesn't matter, from a time perspective, how far apart in real-space those two points are.

From an out-of-lore game perspective, travel time can vary quite a bit. Server connection is the biggest cause of slowdown, but other factors can be at play too. As a veteran explorer who used to play on a 10 year old machine before upgrading, I learned that if the hyperspace sequence took much longer than normal, then I could predict with certainty that there would be likely to be a large number of planets, moons etc in the system, because it had to populate a far larger-than-normal list of bodies. With the hardware upgrade I've noticed this far less, but haven't been in Odyssey enough to see if the overall performance downgrade makes this test viable again.
