I believe they pay more for them which will boost rank faster.

Edit: Average payouts - maybe outdated in values but jump increases will be similar to current at the least in % terms
Today I had no accidents. I realized that on the first evening when I had my accident from flying too close to the star, I didn't use my heatsink. I think if I used it when flying away from the star I could have prevented 2% of the 3% damage.
I found out how to repair the Canopy and Surface Scanner. Appearantly you can't turn them off so you repair them immediatly. Now the only systems with damage are the powerplant, hull and auto field maintainance unit. I sold my second auto field maintaince unit before I left so I can't repair the first.
I found two nice unscanned high metal content worlds to do a surface scan on and some other planets.
I want to thank Helmut Grokenberger for supplying me with the Cocktail and Culinary recipes to unlock Rosa Dayette. I could land on his carrier and get the recipes from the bartender.

I changed course and now flying directly to Colonia in a straight line instead of looping around the centerline. I made a lot of progress in lightyears but did not explore today. I had two accidents. Both at a brown dwarf star. This time I used the heatsink when I jumped away from the star. From now on when I hit a brown dwarf I fly straight from it for a while before turning to my target. It's not scoopable so why fly close?
I pressed full stop and waited till my speed was 30 km/h and tried abort supercruise by pressing J two times. When I unpowered the thrusters that resulted in damage. This did not go well. After the second accident I didn't repair the systems. Next time I log in I will not be in supercruise so I think thats a save moment to repair.

- Wait for the ship to slow completely
- Press J ONCE.
You will exit supercruise with no damage.
Don't follow the Colonia Bridge if you want to find new systems. I've just followed it, my goal was to dock to every megaship on the way. So I flew from one megaship to another. I found 0 (zero) new systems during the whole trip to Colonia.
