Tribute to Iota Hydri. Video

I have spent a huge amount of bounty hunting time at Iota Hydri. And like you all know 2.1 made it even look more spectacular. Here's a short video from my time at Iota Hydri.

Conflict zone found it's way to Iota Hydri. I must say that python ain't the best conflict zone ship anymore. It can take the beating, but it takes a while to actually demolish the target. I have fixed large multis so could be that I miss all the shots

Iota Hydri is the home system of both my husband and myself. I've spent almost all my time there. I found Iota Hydri a month after buying the game (since December).

I was saddened to see that the two Haz Res in the rings around Iben Hub have been moved to the next planet. They're now 40ls away rather than 0.2ls away. And near a gas giant as well which will slow things down. The number of times I've rushed back to Iben Hub with a breached canopy ...

And yes there's also often a CZ there, sometimes two. I wandered into them both once and found that I was allied with all the factions fighting there so I left whistling nonchalently.

I also found Rechtin Garden, an outpost in CPC 22 212 is really good to go to for outfitting. I always make sure that I am clean in that system so I can jump there from a Res and wait out any bounty if I accidentally shoot someone.

The system is on the border with the Federation, but not too far from important places in the Empire. And if I want to cash in Fed and Alliance bounties and perhaps smuggle some illegal salvage then I go to Turdetani where I can do it all at once.

I was really surprised to learn just a couple of weeks ago that DSN is a player faction. This unnerved me a little because if they annoy another player group then someone might UA bomb Iben Hub and my home would be gone.

Great to hear that others have found Iota Hydri too. It has been base for me and my son quite a long time. There was a time when I photo shot Iben Hub a lot. Screenies thread has those shots :D. When I now look back those pictures you can see big improvement on earth like planets.

I know what you mean about that breached canopy. I was today at the haz site and my son had 6% hull left when he managed to escape to super cruise. It was really nice to watch his reactions cause it was so intense.

I too remembered that haz site was also close to Iben Hub. But now it was further away. Still it won't take too long but the blue planet backdrop is something. CZ is so close to planet that the planet itself is quite large visual element. I am visual person and it's nice to see that my son has that too. Common sentence is: Dad, look how awesome this looks.
