Tricked enemy pilot to drop shields!

I got jumped by OP and two wing mates the other day while I was (stupidly) collecting HGE mats in a "hot" system. Totally caught me by surprise and I didn't show superior flight skills :) I wasn't in a trader or explorer build but in a pvp FdL. I actually learned something new and very intriguing (flechette tactics). I don't get why the guy is getting so much heat for posting legit combat tactics. Here's what I say: thanks for sharing, cmdr!

Thanks for being good sport! I was going upload the video but audio didn’t record. I was surprised you didn’t go f/a off and used your speed to keep flechettes bombs at range. Realizing you were focused on me, I kept the our turn radius tight so my wingmates can land their flechettes more consistently.

when we took out Your drives, try going silent running and then reboot repair. Turn off flight assist so you’ll keep drifting away from the pack. And while in silent running, if we can’t target you, we can’t get a targeting solution.

Instead, you completed a full reboot. Thrusters came online and it made your ship stop completely. We switched to dumb fires shortly after.

Hope this helps next time your drives gets taken out by flechette bombers.

And this is what's beautiful about PvP; a great story, followed by an even better after action report with both parties having fun and exchanging camaraderie. I truly believe this is where ED shines the brightest, and am wistful that there isn't more of it.
