Trigurable user music.

I wonder how on earth a bit of music/sound is too taxing...

It massively limits the creative audio potential. You could have station announcers, almost infinite sound effects, voice-overs on dark rides, e.t.c.

I guess you could try compiling a soundtrack that you assign to the ride, but that's a lot of hassle, and doesn't allow you to do as much.

Agreed. They could limit you to 20 customs per park, and limit the file size so you have to compress it a bit. The performance thing CAN be handled. As for copyrighted music, just don't include custom music/sounds in workshop-uploaded items. Strip them off.

A lack of fully custom sounds and objects (if this remains) will definitely cut off many dreams at the pass...

I do understand the arguments here. Copyright issues aside, I feel that the technology is there to allow us to trigger our own audio. For someone like me, who likes to make very realistic audio experiences in rides, this is a huge downside to the game for me.

I made the following ride in a game over two years ago. And yes, I understand this is a completely different game running with very different architecture and such, but I was able to do this with some scripting. What I appreciate about Planet Coaster is that they've hidden all of the tedious scripting in-game with some trigger buttons, but I feel that what I did in this two-year-old game should be able to be done in PC as well.
