Newcomer / Intro try to comming back , and being confused ;)

story short´: tranferred pc account to playstation, played - paused before odyssey) and think about comming back as im a VR Headset owner now.
but, im a bit confused. i saw that odyssey isnt available on playstation. which is ...... for a comeback.
so what is this live thingy vs legacy ? both can have odyssey ? is it true that the live 4.0 has better grafics? is live simply the odyssey DLC or how to "get there" .(what is needed for a transfer back to pc)
i had only ED and the DLC Horizons.

Frontier decided not to build Odyssey for console. In terms of updates consoles reached Horizons 3.8 - last November Frontier made a copy of the galaxy exclusively for 3.8, which they called Legacy. This will receive no further updates. It is all that consoles can access, and on PC the "Legacy" launch options also access this galaxy. No Thargoid war here.

The "Live" galaxy continues to receive updates. It can only be accessed from PC, from both Horizons 4.0 and Odyssey DLCs. Much Thargoid war here.

The live and legacy galaxies are completely independent - what you do in one has no impact on the other.

Frontier ran a Console->PC migration process last year, which was suspended when the galaxy split. It's meant to be reintroduced in a lesser form in the next couple of months, but no-one's yet sure exactly what can be copied, we're awaiting an announcement from Frontier.
