TTRPG: Role Playing then Impacting the BGS

Elite Dangerous provides a wealth of resources for a Game Master to use from factions to leaders, locations and mission types. Basically, run a game with your friends then log in and run missions that mimic the actions of your characters to impact the BGS.

The tools are available. As a Dungeon Master the resources Elite has already would have saved me hours of work when organizing games and with space legs being a thing, you have outpost maps and missions to use.

I'm sure there could be a lot of ways to expand this idea. I was looking at possibly running a game of Elite as a table top using a different system than the ED:RPG and wanted to see what everyone's thoughts were.

Our RPG campaign ended like six months ago, and we are gearing up for another one set in the Elite universe.

We even have a PMF that represents the groups' achievements in the RPG campaign, for which we work both in game and will continue to work for in the new campaign.

So yeah, this can be done; albeit that the TTRPG gives you far more options than in game. But its neat to see your RPG story being represented with a faction and actions in game as well.

Our squad is doing this already. Be aware, thats a hell lot of work for the "game master" . So much work, that it almost made me quit the game.

For one person I could imagine this would be overloading but if anyone else plays Elite or if you have friends that could help the game master make the BGS impact?

The RP is kinda different because you are not a game master, you are a player like everyone else.
You can however, set up your group of rebels, give it an agenda and find players then do your good deeds for the cause with the BGS - within the rules and restriction the game imposes.
