Go to Inara -> Engineering -> Componnets and select Tungsten.
From that list, take your guess. The stuff is used in a lot of premium synthesis receipes as well as a lot of high end heavy duty engineering. I need it (a lot) for heavy duty hull reinforcements.

I think dysoni is not asking "What do you need Tungsten for?", but "Why do you only want to collect Tungsten in particular?".

Answer to that question is in OP post #13, where he explains: "I am full of everything except a bit of tungsten and so wanted to use it as an excuse to fly around and land on a planet and challenge myself with getting used to it all again."

so how do you find bio sites? EDDB allows a selection for volcanism which is geo sites but what about bio sites? Assuming geo and bio give you the same raw materials. Or does volcanism include bio sites?

Volcanism is an easy predictor of geo sites, but biologicals can be trickier. If you want a tool, you can use Spansh or EDSM.

I realise that bio sites are not very frequent generally and I was thinking about the Crystalline Shards sites as they are bio sites IIRC. Dont need bio sites for anything atm but was curious about them so looked them up and they are rare it would appear.

Yeah, you'll have to travel out of the Bubble a bit, but they can be somewhat common in some regions. Guardian space is lousy with Brain Trees and nebulas have Bark Mounds.

Completed my challenge to stock up on tungsten and therefore fill up my raw materials completely. It took many hours today just to get 37 tungsten. It felt really good to be back in the seat for ED after a 3 month break. Had a weird experience with my hotas but apart from this issue I had a great time and I am now going to fill up with manufactured materials using HGE farming before I go engineering my fleet a bit more. Thanks for all the help.
