Turn off that YAW joystick animation!!

Why the heck was this implemented? It looks so weird in VR. I'm using feet rudder, not hand rudder. I struggle to understand why FD implemented it on the joystick instead of the foot rudder. It annoys the hell out of me!!!

I like it. It matches my X52pro. \o/
I know in the menu there is an option to switch off ‘idle hand movements’ is there one for stick twist ?

No, that one is only for the idle animations. Seems that FD forced this animation upon us. And it's REALLY distracting in VR when you're not using hand-yaw

Back to the topic. If you don't use VR, the animation is not necessary either. The animation was made for VR. But it's distracting if you use feet-rudder.

And Vice Versa if you're using twist yaw. What about the SRV? If you steer with your feet but see the stick move?

Maybe in graphics options there could be an 'Avatar' Section with options for Steering, Yawing etc etc.

What the hell is wrong with you guys

Personally I think that complaining about a window-dressing animation in a virtual reality depiction of an imaginary spaceship in an imaginary galaxy by an imaginary pilot via some rather expensive electronics equipment is the epitome of a first-world problem. ;)

Don't have a cow man, we are just teasing.

(... but to further ruin your immersion can I just say "friendship drive charging". :D )

I get you. But spending that amount of money for such an immersive game, just to receive an update that constantly triggers you in VR. it can make you not want to play the game. Because it's so prominent. Right up in my constant peripheral.

I can understand this is perfect for those who have yaw on the stick. But I have seperate rudder

The only thing I find a little irritating is that the animation for roll/yaw in the Cockpit is reversed for me (T. Flight HOTAS X).

When I move my HOTAS left, the animation yaws left.
When I yaw my HOTAS left, the animation turns left.

Not exactly very important though as I only see it when I headlook down.

That i can understand, feels like Fdev should've thought of that.

Aside from the typo that's still weird ... I have the same stick and the animation is fine.

I love this feature, personally, since I use twist-yaw on my HOTAS. It matches what I'm doing with my hands, which is great.

But I see how it could be annoying if you use rudder pedals. Maybe just adding a toggle in the settings for this would be the best solution.

In game the ship is steered like that i don't see a problem with it being there.

I thought I explained why?

Yes. The feature is great if you have physical yaw on your physical controller.. If I had that, I would love this function too.
