Tutorial for Elite Dangerous Odyssey Materials Helper

I just posted this "Tutorial for Elite Dangerous Odyssey Materials Helper" up on YouTube. If you are wanting to Engineer anything in Elite Dangerous Odyssey then you want to check this program out! :)

If anyone has any technical issues, suggestions or just questions in general then Jixxed (the creator of EDOMH) provides excellent support over on his Discord server.

Jixxed, the creator of Elite Dangerous Odyssey Materials Helper, has now made this video the 'official' complete guide to EDOMH! He is also going to be adding it to the 'About' page in the program itself on the next release. How cool is that? :D

What does "WL" mean? Wishlist? (If so which ones - or is it all?) And presumably FC is Fleet Carrier?

You are correct. All wishlists combined and fleetcarrier. Might add an option to toggle between currently selected or all wishlists in the future if there is interest.
Brilliant, thanks. There was a message popped up on a later use saying to reroll the mouse over it for an updated view or similar, possibly because I have three blueprints on one wishlist or maybe I'd traded something, not sure. I'll have to experiment with it more, it looks really useful at the bartender.

the mouse pointer can get in the way for proper material detection, if that happens you can mouse over the cocktail symbol to trigger the detection again.

Nice. I am a Linux user, only boot into Windows to play ED - my only reason to use Windows.

It's written in Java too and uses JavaFX - a sure root to a nice looking UI; I am hoping that it reads the journal files so I can just mount my Windows SSD and play around and plan my materials in Linux.

Rather than checking security via a virus checker I'll just read the source :D

Ironically, I am just in the process of upgrading 2 Maverick suits from G3 > G5, along with 4 modifications for each suit; I've been book-keeping the whole affair and this will save me doing that. I'll download and compile from source tomorrow night - Monday evening fun sorted!

... In addition to G3 > G5 for an AR 50 and TK Aphelion.

Nice timing @Logan Terrick !

POST EDIT: Once I've done that I'll update my own cheat sheet (see link) with the new tool details.

PPS Nice work @jixxed

Thanks, it's just that I am well-accustomed to compiling projects from source and prefer to do that. If I can, that is.

However, gradle... Not so familiar with. More accustomed to gcc and Maven.

I'll get it to compile eventually... Default JDK on my version of Ubuntu is openjdk version "11.0.16" 2022-07-19, perhaps that's the issue.

Absolutely superb work, and to make it cross-platform - kudos to you (and many, many thanks!)

If you are into compiling from source might I suggest Archlinux, precompiled packages with a very good package building system. Makes it super easy to create and install your own packages.

It will not run for me..... opens as a background process, not an app.
