Two crashes in VR in 20 mins...

First one just about to land on a platform...

Second when arriving at The Oracle...

Not had crashes in VR before, so the new version?

Are you playing in open or a private group? I lost all control when about to land in Mobius at the Oracle. I logged off before I blew up. I think there is a network bug :( Had no problem in solo.

Another lock up last night after using second monitor for browsing, not able to return focus back to the game.

Once again, an old bug that has been around for a long time that gets re-introduced in a minor update.

It's really astounding

It maight be releated with win 1709 updates, just check your CPU usage when it happend. I have problems with all games with this crazy OS

Interesting you say that. Not conclusive but Rainbow 6 was stuttering a bit for me last night and hitting sub 60fps.... all the while the GPU was well under 50% used!?

meh, i was considering firing up the game again after a couple of months to see the flames in space. i'm reconsidering my consideration now ...

It was 30mins of art department content basically for me with the "complexity" of landing with heatsinks....

Out of the game again now...

Everyone's mileage varies. I've logged about 20 hours this week, all in open. Not 1 crash or CTD. I only had 1 D/C - "unable to connect to server".

What a bunch of miserable sods. If you can't derive any pleasure from half destroyed starports with a massive rescue effort (and for me a hyperspace interdiction by Aliens) whilst in VR without reducing it to what the art department did; then perhaps you should tell us what game to play instead.

I did... I flew around the station a couple of times and really enjoyed the hard work of the art department. I then did a couple of rescue runs... I didn't find this very difficult or taxing TBH.

It's a nice new addition, but let's be honest about it at least. Definately a nice step in a good direction... Fingers crossed we now get some true gameplay depth and mechanics bolting on top.

ps: No need to get all needlessly personal about it just over differences of opinion?

Open? You’re brave. I heard there are people grieving rescuers
blimey is this still happening... I've sat around doing barely nothing in ED just to let the dust settle, i guess it hasn't and i need to start playing this game away from 'open'

How on earth is anyone new to this game going to enjoy it if the griefers are about... as an Alpha backer it's taken me years to pluck up courage to start...

...but i guess im old and insignificant

Windows 7 ???

This used to happen all the time, got fixed, and is back again. Just had to do another Task Manager kill to close down and restart ED.

Better of ignoring him.

I lost control last night. Dead stick on exciting warp, full throttle, so started heading at full speed for the heart of the sun. All very Pink Floyd and trouser filling. Even woke the dog up!

In the few seconds I had, I managed to figure out that something had stolen focus from ED, so ripped off my Rift, clicked the mouse, while throwing the Thrustmaster into a frantic reverse....

A minor mental break down later, and I had control back, just in time to skim round the sun, deploy a heat sink, (fuel scooping was 600+ at this point), then head into space and watch my temperature gauge start to fall.

After that it was just a matter of re adjusting my height for my increased seat elevation, and away I went.

No idea what stole focus, but it has happened before. Not often, just enough to keep me awake at night.
