Two Wolf-Rayet in one system. Common or not?

I've done quite a bit of exploring, but I found a system last night with two Wolf-Rayet stars. First time I've seen somewhere with two of them.

That common or not?

It's not very common since Wolf-Rayets are quite rare in general. But it happens. I visited 2 or 3 such systems during my journeys. I think once I encountered 3 Wolfs in one system but would have to check my logs to be sure about that.

Nice system, though. :)

Some time ago i compiled a list of AA-A systems which i visited recently. It has 70 entries. This includes not just WR, but all other types: O III, Herbigs, Blue Supergiants, etc. Out of these 70 about 10 had more than two WRs and 3 or 4 had triple WR configuration.
This makes it quite common, i guess.

The only concrete data I've got on this is from when I scanned all 355 AA-A H* systems in the Noijou sector. 6 of them had double Wolf Rayets (non more than 2). To put that into further context, 111 systems had 2 or more black holes. Personally, I would put them in the "uncommon but not amazingly rare" category.

Thanks for the replies, really interesting info on WRs

I'm currently going through a AA-A sector (name not given as still in the middle of the search) and found 42 Wolf Rayets (six already tagged for other CMDRs) and this has been the only multiple-WR so far.

Not a big WR-hunter myself. According to the EDD Journal:
* 57 systems contained 1 WR
* 8 systems contained 2 WR

My EDD Journal has:
* 55 systems containing 1 WR
* 2 systems containing 2 WR

Got another double last night!

Redfox - Seen your name out there a few times as well :)
