Hi There

I thought I would start a fun thread were you put down things you are likely to say while playing any of the Elite games. No swearing now!

For a starter:

"Oh no! I forgot to save it. Aaaaagh!"

This little quote could apply to any of the elite games, especially so after you have worked hard to buy that special new weapon/gizmo/engine, (delete as appropriate) and lost your ship due to pilot ineptitude.

My most common one - profanities excluded - would be:-

"Well, I'm not going to get very far like this", having for the umpteenth time in my career, launched from the spaceport without buying any fuel

"Oh no, i've just gone to some godforsaken backwater in the middle of nowhere, flown to a horrific little planet with ridiculous gravity, battled my way through 30-50 enemy ships, travelled all the way back to civilisation, tried to cash my mission in and then realised that i forgot to actually drop the bomb".

mines normaly something along the lines of 'oh for gods sake!' when i've removed my atmosphric shield to save space then forgotten about it and try to land planet side d'oh!

You can get around landing without an atmospheric shield if you use the stardreamer. Only works for starports though and an autopilot.

Works just as well without - you'll have to use your craft's ridiculous (compared with current chemical "firecrackers") delta-v budget, and thrust to decelerate well below the speed of sound in the lower atmosphere prior to reentry, then sail gently towards your destination. Requires patience.

My own:

Me: "What the hell? I didn't carry 21t of rubbish in my cargo hold. Where did it all come from?"
Frontier: "Drive System: Interplanetary drive [max.0.00 ly]"
Me:: "Oh."

Usually said when you have been pulled out of witch space with a really poorly armed ship, plus a full Thargoid fleet is on your tail (with added escorts), and your hyperdrive seems to take forever to initialise a jump to normal space. Ah the memories!

I was switching between FFE and FE2 the other day, and got into a scrap. As usual the ship was getting shot to bits, I thought, "right I have had enough of you" and attempted to launch my NN500 missile. " Hey launch already!", frantically pressing that M key. BOOM!

I forgot to arm the thing as you do in FE2
