Right I want to update my Sig file with a UA logo, please point out the one that was made a few days ago for use... It got buried fast ! I cant find it :)

The original with all the text in place etc..

BTW, this image is public domain. Anyone want to use it feel free. I can't do anything meaningful to help the cause here due to lack of time but this image is a thank you to all of you for keeping me entertained and making these forums enjoyable again.

Cheers

Just wanted to put this out there. Don't those 3x4 canisters on the UA look similar to cargo canisters? Does anyone think we can pry them off (mining lasers?) as they might contain toxic elements killing the device, and perhaps we could then persuade it to use SAP 8 canisters instead?

Thanks Sigon, I'll try to join you asap, though the search bar doesn't seem to like me, I've got problems finding the system...

-- update --

Ok found it!

Okay, don't know what magnet I equiped, but I just found another UA. Pleiades Sector IR-W D1-34. Not scooped yet.

Man the galaxy search is the worst, so many systems with long names like that and the search doesnt work for any of them. =/

Do yo uhave a system close by to that for reference?

edit: nm see you on the galaxy map

Do you guys keep a list of systems you've visited with UA in cargo and read their local galnet? List of systems/ststions you've sold UAs to?

AFAIR there was a science outpost somewhere around old worlds (probably Leesti). Any attempts there?

Just checking everyone heard me, just in case it's important. It is after all right before our eyes!

Selling, that's easy: 1@Leonard Nimoy - by people who post here, at least...

All systems visited though? Good question, there is no exhaustive list. Probably should be - but it's be asking a lot of the carriers to note every system :)

CMDR Britain (Bitstorm, above) has a whole bunch of vids (check his sig) from which you can build a list, and many others (MrTree (CMDR Branch), Ratking15, Wishblend, and many more people - sorry all those I've missed - have been posting tonnes of videos). The Wiki had a reasonable list last time I checked, too.

Selling a few and then keeping an eye on the local news and/or GalNet is becoming a more popular idea I think...

Nice idea, but the scale is wrong I think. They do look a bit like canisters - but I believe scale tests have shown the UA to be really quite small - no more than a canister size in its own right.

I think they're its power source, or modules of some kind. But I doubt we'd be able to do surgery on them with a mining laser without blowing them up. By all means try it though if you can get hold of a UA, or a willing UA holder

edit: plus what Zoltan said about scale

Nah, as I said, public domain :)

Ah good :)

Ah good :)

I think they're barrels of Whisky.

Except the nonalcoholic ones - they're full of Ovaltine.

I'll get my coat.

Ok Dudes and Dudesses, while we're messing about with containers do any UA holders have some random containers to try out a little something? Or can someone take some containers to a UA holder?

Remember a while back someone posted a vid of a container near a UA flashing oddly at it's end? I've been obsessively looking at containers ever since and they always just blink 4 lights regularly. I'd like to see what different containers do in the presence of UA. Specifically, I'd like to see if the flashing lights at their ends change. The vid I'm talking about looked like some sort of (dare I say it) language of lights was going on.

------------

Oh and Zoltan, have some rep!

Got you covered here. This video shows how the UA distorts the lights, but moves out of the gas cloud & shows the canister lights clearly - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5CdzvE6nh6k

Sadly 'Private Ryan from a different universe' died in the name of science. We tried getting it below 100%, to see if that brought it to 5 purrs.
A little nudge, it stayed at 100%, second nudge, it was instantly destroyed.

There is footage though, from afar and close by.

-update-
We had some instancing problems, so perhaps the first nudge did do damage, but it didn't display.

Aye.

I first thought it was either:

- Braben's telling porkys
- ED's core is far too dense
- The outer portions of EDs galaxy stretches too far out

Then again it might just be the spirals arms are not quite correctly placed? I dunno. Interesting though.

Still catching up.... And will be for weeks, so no stardust for me, not soon anyway.

But

Bitstorm, that's all very likely. But what if.... If... The density is in fact correct, it IS the same in the strips as the surrounding galaxy.

It's just we can't see the rest of the stars... Not yet. :D
