64 Arietis is better, and it's closer ;)
It should have an outpost as well.
My fav near-Pleiades system so far.

Whilst it might be marginally closer, it does not have an outpost. That add complications for moving a UA around.

Offutt Colony in Ngobe simply offers Refuel and Repair services. Not very flexible but enough and no hassle of always having to smuggle a UA in and out. If you do want expanded services you can pop over to Hinz Hub.

Yes, my mistake, no outpost there, but now I remembered why I love it soo much:
The Outpost in Ngobe had just refuel and repair, while the station in 64 Arietis is not guarded by police forces at all. So you can freely enter without beeing scanned. I NEVER WAS, while holding my UA. So 64 Arietis, still better IMHO. And well furnished as well. Try it!

Hey all. Been a couple days since work overwhelmed me, and there's like 60 new pages in 5 days. Don't feel like reading all this.

My test with the black box and the UA failed. Nothing nor any change noted going around the UA at crazy burst speed in a cobra and crashing in my second account conda who holds a UA. I kept farming Timocani and got finally found an escort with a UA which I gladly took possesion of. I also tried the test with the 2 UA, one in cargo and one floating in space. To no avail.

My new aim is to give one of my UA away to someone in need for testing purpose. I'm also looking to see a free floater (not stolen) and would be ready to exchange the 2 UA for it.

Haha glad you managed to get another UA. Would you mind attempting a repair/reboot while having one UA in your cargohold? I don't think it's been tried. When did they implement this mechanic btw? I can't remember...

You can sell the extra UA in Alioth if you wish. :X

@Saool

If IRC 64 Arietis is an anarchy system. I've never been scanned at an anarchy station.

IRC I'm parked up there at the moment. It's only 6 jumps away from the Plaeiades in my ASP.

Exactly ;)
As I said, is the PERFECT station for a smuggler ;) I love it.
Thats why I proposed it for the Canonn...

EDIT: And now that we have some "confirmation" about the Pleiades -> UA connection, I wish they would have listened to my suggestion... ;)

Wouldn't it be fun if Merope was just part of the beta test of 1.4 and UAs of final 1.4 would point elsewhere?

I have been in Merope (1.3) for an hour doing close flybys but haven't found anything interesting.

I for one hope the beta doesn't have all the info yet
We dont what it strip mined in the beta for all the new "story line" and have those without access stuck on the side lines

Ok. 64 Arietis is my new home for now.

The Anarchy status "Never Surrender" plastered on the outside of the slot should have given it away. The system also sports RES sites (handy if you fit a warrant scanner and save up some bounties for later). A Black Market (nice free low level income from WSS sites). 20Ly closer to Merope than Ngobe, and very well stocked shipyard and outfitting. +1 delivered (metaphorically, I'm not allowed to give you one right now).

Folk, I'd like to ask some advice.

If I am travelling between two locations in a system - and there is NOTHING between them, not on the map - what would cause the message "Slow Down" to appear?

My ship heaves, the speed drains as if one is passing a star, then it continues again normally.

I've repeated the test between the two locations in the Pleiades, and every time the "Slow Down" message occurs at EXACTLY the same point between the two places.

Any ideas?

It's called a "Lagrange" point.
A point where the gravitational fources of 2 objects cancel each other out.
So you're accelerating away from the object behind you, then it's pull drops effectively to zero and the pull from the object in front of you takes over! causing it so momentary accelerate WITH the pull of the object in front of you. This causes the onboard system to tell you to slow down till it compensates.

OR an asteroid belt...

Asteroid belt

Correct on both counts! Superb, thanks :)

Don't play that often... Feel a little bit embarrassed.

Found NOTHING today :(

Keeping all doors open:
Is this anything?

I can't do anything about it mind: rank required is elite. Just don't want anything slipping past our notice ;)

So - we do get the slow down message at L1.
Thanks, I was wondering about this.
