Ua: Solved it! :)

I am doing.
So far, only a partial message, but I'm nearly out of time at work so gonna take a proper look at home.
Includes the words WWW and UK so far (though this was a bit rushed). If it's for "us" as the players, could be a website to visit?

well hurry up and give us the address!! ;)

Please somebody merge all these Unknown artefact threads.

The whole point of splitting them was that the original thread was hitting 300 pages and it was impossible to get any kind of serious discussion going with multiple lines of enquiry, so no...I doubt that's going to happen.

Why on earth would an Alien race use morse code?!

If it were alien and for us, then we would see patterns similar to the ones on voyager, and it would likely give a sequence of very obvious prime numbers, for example.

If it were not for us, it would be basically undecipherable as we have no foothold to start.

With Morse-code, the developers could put an easter-egg in it, which are fun.

Please somebody merge all these Unknown artefact threads.

Please don't merge all of them. One of the original threads became so large and active as to be impossible to keep up with. There was a co-ordinated effort to create separate threads for the various strands of activity (getting hold of UAs, analysing the audio, decoding the data, etc). Admittedly this has since degraded a tad but putting them ALL back together would be bad I think.

It's an anagram of ... other words.
LMAO. :D

Why does OP have to hurry up to give the adress? GOOGLE MORSE CODE and open the sound files in winamp. Simple and fast for anyone interested.

Thanks though OP for doing it. Im in no rush. Will pop back later to see what website to check out. I dearly hope FD has made a website that have a huge image of a thargie greeting us! Or probably more puzzles. :D

ok, i dont want to annoys people here :X, but as i recall, there was also alien artefacts in elite 3, and there was global news talking about them that the scientists were looking for them.... maybe they sell well in scientist outposts...

but also , ive listened to the sounds it makes and i cant denode any patterns...

Holy crap, you might be on to something. I just serialised all of the binary as 0= . and 1= -, then translated "elite" into morse and searched...lo and behold, it's there. As is "www" a few times. Haven't found "dangerous" or "frontier" yet, though.

Now we're going to run into problems with the order of all the sequences.

where did they find these artifacts in the long run? I've been trying to keep up with the hardwork everyones been doing but keep missing parts, were they in the permit system as suggested?

It would be neat if they got the idea from Interstellar to code something into the signal that eventually lets Commanders open worm holes for galaxy fast travel.

Go on, then...apply it to the other 24 clips we've got (binary translations here: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=142794&page=21&p=2202289#post2202289 ), 'cos none of them repeat ;)

You know, intentional or not, you may have just answered the biggest question here.
If as you say, no sections are repeated, then that implies that it is a singularly whole long message (which could last the length of the artefact's degradation in space).
So I'll put the whole lot together and treat as one instead. :)

Woohoo! :D

I'll do more investigating when I get home later! :D

This is starting to look/sound awfully suspiciously similar to another thing I've seen before what was it.. ahh yes!
