from the maps I've seen people making, they insist it's Corvus, despite Corvus being like... the other side of the starmap. That "symbol" isn't the other side of the starmap, its really close. Unless the whole thing is in the corvus constellation, but then Taurus wouldn't fit.

It's also symbolic of Asgard. And in "sci fi lore" the Asgard are a race in Star Gate. So, it's showing us where the Star Gate is????? ;)

Yes, they could still give us some info on the story of what happened to the Granger Gang even if they don't lead us to anything else. And they pay pretty well.

ON that...

Dillon Always Lies.

And Dillon has said she will shortly provide the next clue.

So, that's that clue.

OK, time to be pedantic!
From first hand experience, albeit 30 years ago:
Thargoids were insectoidal creatures, larger than a man. http://elite-dangerous.wikia.com/wiki/Thargoids
Thargoid ships were octagonal (8 sides (plus top & bottom), not hexagonal which means 6 sides!) prism shaped, they released
Thargon drone ships that were fast, equipped with a powerful beam weapon & a devil to kill- you had to kill the parent ship, but if other ships were around they could take over control of the Thargons!

however I am unsure as to how much my memory may have been hex-edited by the Feds/Frontier/Imps since nowadays history seems to have become very confused!

heheh..wrap ya gums around this ole timer **hands a schooner of lav brandy** and the try pullin the other one, hah

Maybe we found a Thargon drone and not a Thargoid ship :D

AMAZING WORK Turjan!
I had seen it already on reddit and was almost posting it as well :D
There are another couple sketches of yours I liked very much indeed.

I'm putting them on the Front Page ;)
+REP!

Or as the Ocker would understand, "this is going straight into the pool room"

Well this is certainly interesting, if it is real: Apparently these sounds were recorded near the black hole at 39 Delta Persei. I'm at the far side of the galaxy, anyone else want to confirm? https://soundcloud.com/mason-amorphous-taylor/thargoids

Apparently the noises require a discovery scanner, by the way.

I was sniffing abou......change tact, I was observing a black hole last week...same sort of noises, think its just what they do

(mind boggling) I have been reading this, and am unsure if I should praise you for your genius suggestions, or start covering myself, screen, keyboard, pc, walls, house, etc etc in tinfoil.

I'm hoping the actual answers are a little in between.

Look, it's not impossible to catch up with this thread anymore! :D

An interesting thing I've noticed is that we've been talking about it's weaponry, what if the drones are it's actual weaponry? And ain't it interesting? The Guardians update features human drones...

Went to visit it last night, its a lot bigger than it looks on the screen grabs! I sat on the central hub in my SRV, floating about 10ft in the air, which I assume is a rendering bug and not some sort of levitation field! I also noticed that the Wave Scanner doesn't have any indication its there. Is that because it's organic material?

It worked just like that in the earlier games. Thargoid motherships launched what's called Thargons, unmanned drones who swarmed and attacked other ships. Those were pretty small though. If this thing we have seen is a Thargon, the mothership should be about the size of a station if it can release more than a couple. It certainly should be bigger than an outpost

I don't think this is a Thargon, at least in the sense of the earlier Elite games.

Going back to the folded Kerrash's map thing (wormhole theory explanation model) - are there any black holes within said map/crash site area that could be relevant?

re: Kerrash's map thingie. So, I did the obvious, treated the three stars as Orion's Belt, and went to the leftmost one (ie: the centerpoint).

So I'm here in Mintaka. Pretty ordinary system, except there's a black hole here, with a planet orbitting it. The planet is landable. "Oooh I'll go there!" thinks me. Get to Orbital drop height, and I'm going no further. Maybe the black hole is sucking me backwards, thinks me. Then, after a few minutes, up pops a message "A PERMIT IS REQUIRED TO LAND HERE". Wut? Since when? It didn't say that in my detailed surface scan or system scan. But no, the planet is permit locked.

"Supicious......" thinks me ;)

should I fly into the black hole, see if I end up somewhere? [yesnod]

what...????

Considering what we know about Thargoids existing "in between" I thought that we should look not only at Witchspace but also black holes.
The amount of permit locked stuff around the area of interest is definitely "supicious" :)

Only if you remember to record your voyage!
