HOWEVER, could it be the start of a new one? i.e. we've found one at a location, maybe next we look for "free floater" - could there be one of these things in a USS somewhere nearby? The discovery of this bit is likely to have led to a "trigger" of the next part of the puzzle, and as it doesn't appear to contain significant new information directly at the crash site, and as it appears to be a ship of some sort (at least, something that flew at some point), I'd be looking to the skies nearby to find more!!!!

Not until 2.2 I fear.

One thing is an inanimate wreck, one thing is a real flying ship with all the HUGE CODING involved.
The wreck is just a 3d model put there and stop. It's a teaser. It's purpose is accomplished.

Wait. What I write on the FP comes from the common effort of the community, and I try to be as more unbiased as I can.
When I put there my thoughts, I specify those are my personal thoughts.
My role is more that of a journalist than a Scientist, at least while I document things on the FP.

If I post on the thread, instead, I'm playing the Scientist like any other CMDR here.

Yeah the wreck has been there since horizons release I believe. Still A shame there is nothing really to do alien wise... We still need to solve the spectogram of Merope. or as Drew says (The Merope Image)

Seems like there's already significant Canonn input there already - e.g.: http://elite-dangerous.wikia.com/wiki/Unknown_Probe

Would save a bit of effort on that first page itself and posting a useful link is more helpful as a response to newcomers than 'read the first page'.

The point being, how many posts are you going to end up needing to reserve for the various elements of the various mysteries as it develops.
Why not just maintain a list of links to the Wikia and spend the effort keeping those pages up-to-date?

Obviously, the first post for 'Latest Developments' is still useful.

Alien Face Looking Pillar of The Alien Crash Sight

I was scanning around the alien crash sight and on one of the pillars. It appears to look like a face of some sort.

So maybe it was flying, then whacked and smashed then crashed and got crushed and ..and...and... Don't know more, mi english is terrible !
