Well, I told you, that Taygeta 4 is beautiful:

Ohhh like a pair of new underpants :)

Before we start tinfoiling, time for the Meta Hunters to decide on how to hunt.

Given that :
Meta is to be found at/near a PPOI (Permanent Point of Interest)
PPOI do not appear as blue on the radar at 2km like normal POI

Make sure you understand that by following the normal POI hunting methods, you may find Tea and only Tea
Flying very low and using detection method #1 (Eye ball), may be the only reasonable way to find what you so desperately seek

I'm going with the ol' eyeball all the way.

Back to looking for the planets in the trailer.

Assuming all of the scenes are from the same planet, we're looking for a system that has at least two stars... One yellow orange and another blue-white(?)

Maia system has both stars and a black hole. Is also brought up when you search for Pleiades in the galaxy map.

Possibly.

If I should guess, I would say that the 'barnacle scene' is on the same planet as the 'Intro Sunrise'.

Don't take my word for it

Edit: Not all scenes are from the same system. There is also a binary blue star system.

Ah, a nice and clean thread. Good luck keeping it clean Rizal... In the mean time, still no barnies found...

Hey guys. Back home from work. Now back to work! (yeah, finding barnacles is serious work ! :p)

Taking off from OO heading to Merope for this afternoon (maybe also a look in other systems who knows :p) , hit me up if looking for a wingman ;)

I almost caught up on the flight home after spending Christmas and New Years in London. Now I'm 100+ pages behind (really!) and looking at a whole new thread.

Wow.

Skimming the end of the latest Threadnought (although I'm tempted to call it the Threadnaught) it seems like no one has found a barnacle, right?

On the other hand, the patch note from Wednesday mentioned "Shouldn't have to drive away from the crashed ship sites and Barnacles to be able to recall your ship.", so someone did find a barnacle?

Since the thread intro doesn't mention it, yet, could someone provide a quick overview of the status of barnacles / UAs / meta materials before we get too many pages into the new thread?

If i set FOV to max and swing my mouse wildly on freelook, is it googly enough?

I'd give all of my rep (which is none) to you for this —:)A+ works like a charm! :D

I cruised around a couple of Merope's moons yesterday and gave up pretty quickly — found a couple of mining outposts, but both only provided Bauxite. What a load!

I'll lurk around this thread while I go back to the bubble and do some space-trucking in my T9. I'm rooting for you folks!

I'm definitely not part of the Canonn group or whatnot. I'm mostly a solo player in Elite. But I love to take part in community goals and events. And I've pretty much spent my entire evening last night working on this 'barnacle' mystery. As of today, my entire household is sick, so while I take care of my wife, my daughter, and myself.. I'll be spending some more time searching. Will pass along anything I discover. Good hunting CMDRs!

Good luck to you, CMDR. I hope everyone gets well soon.

And good hunting! o7

Seconded - great to know we can offer some light relief from the illness :)

... And - third page already!?

...And - thanks to Yaffle and Riz for sorting this so professionally :)

...And... BARNACLES!

Hello Cmdrs,

good luck to all. I'll try to find something form the orbit around a planet. I think this should be the fastest way to find something special....if it's findable from orbit =)
