Man, it's like staring out the window during a long road trip... only in space.

BUT ITS JUST ONE. CRATER. AWAY!

And that's when the SRV exploded for no reason.....

I finished it for you.

He's a poet and he don't know it

Give me a dime, I made a rhyme.

You may actually be right on the warzone bit. When I was there earlier, I heard some NPC's spouting war rhetoric. Barnacle Hunt Base Camp could become a battlefront before we know it.

Indeed it was lasers and tracers everywhere.... I shoulder rammed an Imp Eagle for a fellow commander that was being harassed then docked.

What faction? When I was heading into one of the rocky-ice moons in Maia last night, I was jumped by some Ant Hill (I think) NPC's in a SS just 20 km from the surface. I figured it was because I had some salvaged gold on me, but they attacked pretty quick and I don't recall a scan. Some Hagglebeard's Heroes NPCs then jumped in just as I was jumping out.

Could one of Maia's factions be in league (or a front) with some other organization, and are upset at our searching? Isn't the outpost near the black hole in Maia an Ant Hill Mob base? Maybe we should sack it.

It's all Ant Hill Mob. Looks like we may have overstayed our welcome. Is the system in some sort of state of upheval? if so we need stability ASAP and that is a worthwhile cause/break.

Is the Lovecraft mythos still in play among the theories (The notebook cover to the last codebreaker)? "Pleiades", "fourth planet", "Iron sphere" etc. Or is the consensus that it only was a lead pointing to the Pleiades as a whole before MB mentioned the Seven sisters?

Hit me like a brick... if this has relevance... we are looking for a planet with rings.

I see now. I'd be willing to bet that this is unrelated to barnacles, but at some planet there is something hidden within the middle ring of it's ring system, with the rest of the clue being used to locate where exactly.

Maybe it's all those UAs that -cough-someone-cough- keeps selling to their station. Might be fighting back against explorers screwing with their home. I know I would.

I saw the "call to arms" NPC's last night and assumed a civil war, but if I was attacked by Ant Hill Mob without provocation, and you're getting interdicted, that implies that something else ENTIRELY is at work. I have never seen NPC's in a civil war interdict people before.

We should dedicate some resources to investigating that Ant Hill Mob planetary base, I think. I'm off work in about five hours... not sure if I'll be able to get on tonight, but when I do, I am pretty sure my exploring Cobra will get swapped out with my FAS or Anaconda...

One thing is for sure... someone likes Wacky Races.

That is a very obscure reference only those that loved the show would get.

Missed this - and, yes it is - rep for that man (assumed). I admit, too, I've not just been focussing on Merope because, actually, I had to admit to myself that I simply couldn't be sure of my thinking :D

I've been avoiding Merope too, but for a different reason. Mr Brooks previously stated to look INSIDE nebulae, and in the ED Galaxy Map, to my eye, Merope is outside the Nebula. Instead I've been focussing on Maia, which is not only visibly inside the Nebula on the galaxy map, but is infact the system that the galaxy map associates with the nebula (if you search for Plaiedes Nebula it takes you to Maia)

Pleione4 is ringed - quite a sight looking up - looks a lot like the surface in the video to me as well.

Pleione 4, to my understanding, used to have two moons and a crashed Thargoid ship on the second moon, in the previous Elite game. It now has no moons but two rings... Admittedly, I have no idea if it had rings in the older Elite or not, but if it didn't.... Hmmm...

I have searched quite a bit on Pleione 4 (and in it's B-ring, before Horizons), but so far come up blank.

Regarding those ticket seats, does anyone know what stadium they were for? And where in the stands they were situated?

I did a Google search on PR5. Google auto-filled PR5 Staples Center. At the Staples Center, it stands for Premier section 5. A shot from the seats in PR5 will show you this:

I'd say that's dead center. Now, the trick is to find how that translates to barnacles (if at all)

I like this theory, barnacles\sea creatures flourish in most case on algea\plankton, so maybe these alien barnacles are similar, and they feed on the nebulae like a soup, so would be mostly in the denser nebulae areas. Would explain the misty craters too.

From universetoday.com: "This gas is extremely dilute, with an average density of about 1 atom per cubic centimetre"

That sounds extremely significant to our quest of possibly Thargoid stuff !

So here's a simple theory. we've been busy with UA's , which have a significant feature , namely that the point to the merope star. not a merope planet, the star itself. So if this is also a feature of the Barnacles! They come out or are findable on the spot of the planet that points at Merope the star! (or will only come out when their location is pointing straight up at merope).

So go to a planet, find a spot on its surface(in the nebula) , find merope and position yourself between the to, make planetfall at the spot you'r pointing at. Voila the place on the planet that's exactly pointing at merope. Could be also that the location is that spot during thursdays game offcourse, but that could be calculated.

Alternatively, find a planet in the maia system with a spot that points at the Black hole (makes sense with the trailer as its a dark world, so merope sun might not be it)
