Can we even get to the LMC in game, it's like 163,000 light years away?

163Kly is not that insurmountable with the proper equipment considering the Milky way is about 100Kly across.... I'm thinking some Thargoid/Alien/Ai handwavium drive will make it happen... :)

If the logo fits the negative of LMC and looks like Barnard's loop itself, it means Barnard's loop and LMC should fit each other from some perspective if their rotational orientations let's it happen.

I'm away from the game right now and can't check this but can someone look if there is any way to rotate the galaxy so they are projected onto each other?

Nevermind, doesn't work.

Don't mind also this point:
If one of the two clouds (LMC or Barnard Loop) is related to some home place for barnacle's-related entities, why should they use a logo representig their home as it is seen from our position in the galaxy?
The answers can be:
1- it is a game so this is a human solvable puzzle
2- LMC and Barnard loop don't match with your idea.

Menrope is a no go zone at the moment and no advert for playing in open for explorers.

There is a Cutter, Clipper and Corvette waiting to blow you up.

I was in solo and find that the barnacle does not show up most of the time, when going to open to check it was there and I got attacked instantly.

Open will be a place for PvP very soon with everyone leaving.

Getting hold of alien technology would mix things up a little aha

Mind you we can boost our FSD's now....

Or maybe (WARNING, TINFOIL ALERT!) It means we need to line the two up...

Quoting myself but this theory doesn't work!

Checked over the phone with a friend. Says there is simply no way since their orientation is totally wrong. Apparently their central planes are at a right angle with each other.

I tryed it just now: the two entities are not rotated in the correct way and when you define a line passing between both, it does not match with anything in particular, a part some thousands of anonymous star systems...

Hmm...I'd imagine that the Antares news will lead to some sort of new superdrive that will let us get to places we only dreamed about before...but I'd imagine its going to be risky as all hell to use. And possibly will be a Witchspace drive like from the old games, meaning of course....Thargoid interdictions. The question is, how long until we see it?

Forgive me if this has been mentioned - no idea how people keep up with this thread - it's like a matrix screen saver!

Didn't the LMC appear just above the horizon on some screen shots from that crashed Conda site? If so then it's likely view-able from all over that sector and like our planets/stars being equated to gods it'd likely have had a significant cultural impact.

Just a thought.

instancing is strange.. I am here in open providing cover for a friendly bunch of scientists

Well, hopefully the troll squad dosn't find your instance...although with you there the scientific team will at least have the opportunity to evacuate before you have to run or die.

Yeah if if anything I'll just keep them distracted while the science teams evacuate :)

It has properly been mentioned before. However here goes.

I noticed that if you shoot the bigger ones with the distortion and particles coming out of them it will launch what seems like a seed into space!
And as others have said I also think they are the incubators for the UAs in space.

On another note: Ill stop shooting at them
