Sorry Guys...

I get over excited sometimes... Its just my nature.

PAY ATTENTION TO WHATS IN FRONT OF YOU MAN!!! *SLAP!!!*

If the black objects are called Black holes after a scan then clearly they are black holes.

If it describing them as planets I think the graphics just did not load. Try a relog, failing that fly to one and look out the window.

If there are only BH as stars, then planets are also black on Sys Mao. There is no light to illuminate them. In space, you can JUST about see them as a very dark brown patch, or by the background occlusion

Do not forget, that the novels featuring RAXXLA also mention alternate iterations of the milky way and the people in it,
time travel and different universes.
Quantum teory stuff?

So... all that happens is that someone finds Raxxla - activates the Portal and suddenly two universes become one - and the Aliens suddenly appear next to us... with Hardpoints Deployed!!! 'Cause they've been waiting for us to do that...

Sorry for my temporary space madness.

But I am kind of entertaining the idea that maybe this is what we are looking for? A black hole system with seven orbiting planets... Shrouded in darkness? Seven veils?

And, yes when im not overexcited I can count. :p

Update on Daurtu. So I popped in to Panshin Terminal today and saw this article from Feb. 5:

This was one day after Galnet reported that Daurtu Jet Comms had failed and the Federation would begin analyzing their collected wreckage.
https://community.elitedangerous.com/galnet/uid/56b328b59657ba0564c00374

1. Why is this article popping up now? I thought one of the recent patches made it so articles older than 30 days were deleted?

2. Why would Galnet say that their appeal failed, then the next day Daurtu publishes an article saying their delivery target was met? And that it was possible that they had some of the Starship One wreckage? Would they not also begin to analyze their wreckage? What happened???

Now that is odd. I pay attention to the Local News wherever I am and I've never seen it reference a CG like that before. I also didn't see it when I collected my rewards from DJC.

That's called a solid lack of communication from the FD crowd.
How can we possibly operate like this?

Chasing other ghosts at the moment.

This is the point where I loose interest, and find something nice to drink in fridge. Ive even lost interest in exploring the rift. Its so... Disorganised.
No thanks.

Are there seven planets or seven black holes? Anyone know about where the death star was made in Star wars? The maw was a large group of black holes that hid a pocket of stable space... Start flying around those black holes Gypsy!

Just planets without light. I saw things like that about... 200-300 times.

Why not try a PM to Drew Wagar & ask him that's it?

I suspect if we do find it in the game it will be a structure that is non functional, at least until Frontiers decides the game needs expanding into other universes.

Rumour has it that one of the gates opens into Star Citizen; and the other into No Man's Sky - although that one has a warning on it to beware of super neon-vision.

The one that opens into Geometry Wars was closed because it's just too mental in there.

I wondered if someone was going to say that. I nearly did, but thought someone else should have a shot at free banana rep :)

Edit: repped :)

So a little thought on the Rift aspect of the Formadine Rift

In the book .. It mentions going to the Edge of the Galactic arm as well as the Formadine Rift but also seems to indicate that no one has traversed the Rift
"No one has gone past it and lived to tell the tale". I hear "Rift" and I think there has to be another side ... I hear edge .. and well that should be it "Stars thin out, you can see the whole galaxy just hanging there."

But since I like to have and eat my cake ... what if it is both the Edge of the "galaxy" as we think of it and there is also a "rift" to another ring of stars...

There is a nice little article about a ring of stars surrounding the milky way which could even be described as a Tiara made of stars ... :)

And well then you could be on the edge staring across the rift to ... well cake.

Been a while since i did any meaningful travel in this game, i am now out a fair few K ly and i have started to notice some thing that happens from time to time, some thing that ive never seen even whilst out exploring for weeks at end.
It only happens occasionally and when i does im right in the middle of a long route and cant turn round and see if it does it again but i keep seeing groups of red stars during jumps, this is new to me i don't know if it means anything in relation to the system being jumped to, or anything at all, and no i'm not out of my meds, i have a full compliment of biscuits :D
So im wondering if these things are random or system specific, and if they are then whats causing the red bits to happen.
Would be a great place to hide lil clues, right in front of our noses.

ok, I am new to this alien investigation thing, but this is what I think I have so far. Most of this is probably common knowledge, but hey, maybe I have something new, maybe not.

The barnacles were clearly engineered and put there to harvest meta alloys, likely by the same people or aliens dispersing the unkown artifacts. the large barnacle appears to have been planted like a seed and to have grown the smaller spires. once the spires mature they "flower" meta alloys, for lack of a better work. us destroying them appears unnecessary for harvesting really and seems like a failing of game mechanincs. also, I believe it is certain they are being harvested by someone, maybe the human facilities near some barnacles serve this purpose. why engineer the barnacles, and why make them fruit if not to harvest the fruit? meta alloys stop the technological decay caused by the UA's and may have been specifically developed for this purpose. Are the UA's a weapon? being spread through space like a toxic spore cloud, are the barnacle there so the perpetraters can protect themselves? there are two thargoid sects also, maybe one sent the UA's and the other sent the barnacles to help. However, it is quite possible this tech is human AND thargoid. Human colonies lost in the fringes of space may have made contact with the thargoids and be working with them, that would explain the human outposts sometimes found near barnacles. why do they point toward merope? I think that due to their placement they are either from there, or sending communications to something there. no idea really on that one, but if I have to pick one I will go with communication as the side they face toward merope looks like it could be some kind of signalling device.

anyway, in summary; I think it is probable that this technology is a human thargoid collaboration. It is likely there are sects within the thargoids that are still quite angry over the last war and their genocide at the hands of our bio-weapon, this would seem a fitting retaliation in my mind. the human bases near the barnacles, and the fact that the UA's use morse code STRONGLY make me suspect a human influence at work as well.

there is my two cents, any thought?

Maybe there is something like "path" to raxxla? Stars forming many KLY lengh line, with raxxla and view at entire galaxy at the end? Galactic edge is really big. Maybe it's here since beta but nobody spotted it because it's too small.

It's random. Could you post screenshot of those "red stars"? I don't recognize them :O

A storyline series of discoveries might lead to a pathway to raxxla. 2mass systems are one example though probably not invovled

I would expect perhaps even the meta alloy and unknown artifact and missing storylines might be part of a longer term plan, or a reactionary storyline that Fdev have to unfold
