What about UA? Putting the same ammount of UAs as the same ammount of spears/spires of the barnicle.
We did try this one but not as a system map more a map of Nebulae to visit in the galaxy with the central spire at Sag A, could not get it to work though not accurate enough for a result of any kind
And considering you can get barnicles with 2 main points.
If so then there are lots of maps.. They changed the barnies. They all seem to have a different layout now

I think the fact that they are organic makes any sort of map highly, highly unlikely. Without any very strong evidence to the contrary, I think it's going to be like looking for a famous face in a piece of toast. There if you really want to see it, crispy bread otherwise.

the horsehead nebula is permit locked, did jacques end up over there
Any system that was not locked before the update and are now locked after an update raise a GIANT red flag for me. I personally think those systems should be kept under watch until further notice.
Before the barnacles when the first UA were found we were at DEFCON 5. We knew something was up so we started investigating.
Just before the barnacles when Obsidian Orbital was built we realised that the UAs were pointing at Merope so we were at DEFCON 4. We were pretty sure stuff would soon be on its way for us to experiment with.
Barnacles were found. Meta-Alloys. Obsidian Orbital they were connected. We investigate the Barnacles thoroughly and still dont know alot about them. DEFCON 3. We know THEY will appear soon. When or where is unknown.
Engineers Update. "random RNG effects" for things. Systems that were not locked before are now locked. I personally think those effects could mean something. Like it says with the experimental effects. "They are usually good outcomes" (USUALLY) that raises a red flag with me.
When it happens. When the first Thargoid ship or Thargoid is discorverd. We will be at DEFCON 2. And then. If they come in numbers. DEFCON 1
