I have to laugh when I hear this "No Surrender" rubbish. Surrender to what, the democratic vote to live in a modern pluralist republic where every citizen has the same rights and opportunities as you and yours. Unionism has been trapped in its mental cul de sac for so long, it can`t see the wood for the trees. As far as a loyalist backlash, forgive me if I don`t give a fiddlers nor am I worried about it, anyone that tries it on will be dealt with fairly rapid.

Oh look a sectarian hate post with a thinly veiled threat at the end.

Thank you both for helping me out with that, i'm actually less ignorant than i thought because my guess was that SDLP were soft republicans Ireland and UUP were soft unionists.
As for Sinn Fein not taking their seats, i already knew that, my point about the idea of a labour SF coalition was under the assumption that SF would break with tradition(i know that won't happen).

Being a proud Brit is very strange for me, i sometimes feel like a contradiction, sometimes pride in our military history, sometimes ashamed by it, another thing i'm big on is Unity, i hope i never see the break up of Great Britain (Wales, Scotland and England) but i'm not a royalist so i wish we were a URGB United Republics of GB rather than a United Kingdom. But as we all know, things are complicated......can't we all just agree that we would be better off in Alliance space ? :D

This thread has been nothing but bickering the last while. Also it is vastly off topic of the UK elections, which have completed.
